Been in before and after it went posh.
Personally i preferred it as a local boozer but if it's posh food and dining you want this is the place for you.

7/10

Dining pub & pricey. Don't go if you just want a few pints!

Excellent food... at quite high end of the price market... After saying that you get what you pay for here.. The quality is excellent and packed with flavour... Very good wine menu but , i have to say, a limited beer and cider selection...
The Mem-Sahib and i stayed the night in this establishment and whilst the road noise is noticable the double double glazing compensates.. The rooms are fantastic...clean and the bed is so comfortable..Breakfast was unique... and good too!!

Very good food and very good drinks, beer and wine.

Went in for lunch and again for supper. Both meals were excellent.

Very friendly staff, some nice quirks about the pub, i.e. a little shop at the back.

It's a dining pub it must be said, it's a little on the pricey side - although the quality of the food, more than justifys the cost - and it's a little off the beaten track, unless you're staying in, or visiting Lydford, then you'll be stopping en route through I suspect, that said, if you stay in Okehampton or Tavistock, it's well worth a visit.
