£3.80 for a pint of cider in an intimidating atmosphere. Won't return.

In here last Saturday morning and agree with most of what WipersTom has posted below.
3 hand pumps but 2 not in use.
Only one had Spitfire which was not at its best and cost £3.20 a pint.

Yet another football pub. Felt uncomfortable and it wasn't particularly welcoming. Wouldn't go back. A bit rough.

Am an occasional visitor to this SN tied pub. Very handy for the station. A typical town pub and no food (see below), unless you count picked eggs. Bare wood floors, basic furiture in the top bar, fairly comfortable but distressed seating to the rear bar with pool table and dart board. This pub has a great atmosphere with a large group of frendly regulars. Good satalite TV (2 sets) for all the major sporting events. Sunday lunchtime/afternoons are a hoot, complete with a compelmentary cheese and cold meat buffet and a meat raffle to round it all off. On the down side I have been served the odd dubious pint of Spitfire but it has always been changed with no grumbling. Also it's handy if you are a Man U supporter, which I'm not! But all in all, pretty good.

The Masterbrew I was served was undrinkable, the Spitfire that replaced it was OK at best, so I will be reluctant to drink here again. Other than the beer, it's an unremarkable place though handy for the station.

I don't quite know why this pub has such a low rating on this site!

Very friendly and good for the football.

I like it.

Shepherd Neame pub opposite the station, small and cosy, does not do food! Given the three good reviews here I am surprised the average rating is so low (4.2 at the time of writing). Good for a drink while waiting for the train back to London or Brighton.

Nearest pub to the railway, being across the road. Comfortable, busy and clean. Good selection and presentation of S & N Beers. Going to be featured next year on "Who Do you think you are?"on the BBC, as formally the photographic business of the ancestor of the tasty bird who fronts "Crimewatch" and "Antique Road Show".

Enjoyed a very nice pint of real ale here, they have Sky Sports for the football fans. Very nice pub for a drink opposite the train Station.
