Been closed for staff training for weeks. don't think it will reopen as the croydon one has been closed for staff training since new year. Besides you couldn't go in for just a drink anymore,It had died off any way. Once the guys behind the bar left all the dregs started coming in as the woman couldn't turf them out. Pity as you did get a better standard of lady in there and generaly no idiots. Nearest comparason in sutton is Reds near the bingo hall.

Oops what has happened to this place. It used to be Busy at weekends with the sort of people that you didn't feel the need to keep one eye on. However it's gone down hill fast in recent times as it's no longer busy and some of the drinkers you get there now look like they belong in the Red Lion or Dolphin. Didn't used to mind paying 3 for a average pint when it had a good atmosphere but can't say it's worth it now. Haven't been in for a few weeks so perhaps they've sorted that out.

I'd rather have forced over-mateyness than the kind of service you get in weatherspoons pubs. Nothing wrong with a polite welcome to a pub or bar.

I don't do food in pubs, so this is purely the bar I'm reviewing

If you've seen too many customer service training videos, and think insincere smiles and forced over-mateyness from people who don't know you are the best thing a pub can offer, you'll probably love this place. Personally it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Also irritating me whenever I go in because it's open late is the swaggering punters. It's not the pub's fault but a lot of their evening clientele do seem to be under the mistaken impression that they're something special.

Last but for me not least, the 3 overpriced draught beers (counting Guiness) they actually serve are uniformly terrible. I'm not referring to the brands, just that for some reason this pub's beer is always horrible.

The ribeye steak was shockingly expensive, but also really quote amazingly good. I hate paying top-end money for beer and scoff at this kind of branded chain, but it is quality - for the moment at least!

Went for food there a couple of days ago -- was very impressed. Patio garden is nice in the summer

Not a bad bar as it goes, its a bit more classy and the women are very attractive in there.

Nice bar at the front and also garden at rear.. very nice in the summer as they open the doors out.

The food is crap though, their supposedly fresh made burgers are quite simply frozen iceland grill steaks...

This is a pub/restaurant type place fitting in with the rest of the chain. The bar area at the front is a bit small but it's got a good atmosphere with pretty good music playing at a volume that you can talk and hear each other. It doesn't seem to attract the less desirable Sutton element either. The beers are limited to Bud, Carling or Guinness and are a bit pricey at 3 a pint but I guess its worth paying a bit extra to drink in a decent bar.
