Out of the way country pub with friendly and pleasant bar girl.
Four hand pumps, two were off, so only Tribute and Doom Bar (yawn) for choice.
Main meals are very expensive. So settled for a chicken, bacon and mayonnaise sandwich.
Wow, best sarnie I have ever tasted, and it came with a handful of chips.

In 2006 I wasn't too impressed with this one but since then both ownership and attitudes have changed and how! Excellent food, beer and service - couldn't ask for better.

Re-opened June 11, very friendly, decent real ale taken in the garden, and served food well after the 2pm advertised last order. Bit out of the way but worth a visit for lunch.

Re-opened as a Resturant Bar by the nearby Barclay House in Looe. Still perfectly usable as a pub though with Doom, Tribute and Proper Job on when we visited. The beer was good and served in the right glasses. It did have a bit of a restauranty feel about it and the food was indeed very good. We stopped by three times and ate twice within a week so I can give it the thumbs up.

Sadly this pub has gone the way of many, and is now closed and up for sale

General: Nice building/interior & nice location. Bit in need of tlc decor wise.

Food prices high for what you get...lacks imagination & quality with the menu being rather bland & somewhat uninspiring in my opinion. Had several meals but all been sadly disappointing...will avoid until improvements are seen. Cutlery also in very poor condition (heavily scratched/scored). Real ale selection poor & actually very average tasting (cleaner lines may help??). Customer service skills not great...some room for improvement, although had alot worse in my time.

Running a pub is a tough game...if improvements are not made here then it may prove very tough for these publicans.

We had a super meal here last Friday eve- the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food good and sensibly priced and the ambience very nice- we would recommend the fish and chips which were the real McCoy- fragrant, golden and quite delicious!! I had local sea bass and king prawns- some of the best I've tasted anywhere. Thumbs up!

Thought this was very pleasant with good service, good beer and enjoyable bar snacks. Friendly staff and no problem with taking kids in. A bit hard to find using the sat nav though!

Definately falls into the 'could-do-better bracket'. The smallish bar enables quick assessment of management techniques, the usual response is for the eyes to roll to the back of the head. The beer is good, but the food does not register on the 'must-repeat-again' list

Attractive and comfotable country pub with Sharpe's Doom Bar and two local ciders on tap. Excellent menu BUT the food service is poor. The pie ran out after two people ordered it which suggests it was the tail end of the weekend batch rather than freshly made. Our order took over 40 minutes to arrive despite the fact that one dish was scallops (3-4 minutes to cook?) and my wife's Vietnamese chicken was obviously microwaved. Other customers who arrived after us were fed first as presumably the effort of serving a dish outweighs when the order is placed. Sort your life out please!!
