user reviews of the Glan Aber Hotel, Betws-y-Coed

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

That is because the site no longer adds new pubs, leaves hundreds of now closed pubs on the site, doesn't alter the changes to names of pubs. More and more frequently I will visit somewhere that has a pub listed on here that is closed or demolished and yet nearby is a perfectly good but unlisted pub - you don't reckon it is worth at least a note to say it's closed but there is an unlisted alternative nearby ?

Undoubtedly, the silly posting hasn't helped. Totally unknown pubs described, on an existing page for another pub!

Don't worry pal, soon enough there will be no one at all writing reviews on here. Then you can chat away with your alter egos in peace!

Posting about unlisted pubs, on a pub's page, is confusing and foolhardy - as nobody knows what outlets are being referred to.

Similar to telling us a former pub building (or site thereof) is now an undertakers or a McDonald's.

Even though, many years before (sometimes, more than ten), it was posted as closed - often several times.

Keep up the good work'Blue'. Pleasing to have some actual review content on the Bite Site once in a while.

I'll clarify that the cannabis smell was in the car park of the hotel. Judging by the local youths' actions, they were clearly the culprits. But, they weren't customers of the hotel. The hotel/bar's clientele was perfectly respectable.

Given that no new pubs are being added to the site anymore, how exactly are we supposed to review them?

Mentioning 5 pubs in a post (4 not on here), accusing the customers of the one that is, of drug taking - and recommending one of the 4 unknown hostelries, for reasons unknown - all makes for a very unusual/mallard like posting!

The Glan Aber is a hotel with a cosy interior in this busy, tourist town. There are a couple of regular beers - Conwy Welsh Pride & Nant Chwaden Aur. There was also a guest ale, which was Purple Moose Madog's Ale. A few were eating, whilst a big party of drinkers arrived shortly before we left. There is a car park at the rear. But, there was a distinct smell of cannabis from the local youths. We moved on from here to the Pont-y-Pair, at the other end of town, before moving on to Gwesty Ty Gorsaf in Blaeneau Ffestiniog, Y Pengwern in Llan Ffestiniog and the Ship Aground in Talsarnau. None of those are listed in here. I will request the 2 best to be added. In fact, I thoroughly recommend Y Pengwern.
