Like most pubs in the Ringwood/Christchurch area, only Ringwood Best/49er available, dare I suggest a Wetherspoons!

Has been repainted, new toilets, a wooden floor and most of the fake irish removed, summer lightning still on, a bit better, but now called 'Finns at Ringwood'!

By and large I've avoided this pub since it was the 'Red Lion', avoided it on principle. Not a bad pub for a quiet drink in the afternoon, the 'Summer Lightning' seems to be consistantly good. A decent pub when quiet, noisy and unattractive when busy.
Like many others I dislike, to put it mildly, the fake Irish tat. Come back the 'Red Lion', what did you do deserve this.
My rating, 4, built entirely on the 'Summer Lightning'.

The decor is crappy fake Irish and the prices are ridiculous. This pub's only redeeming feature is that it regularly has Summer Lightning on tap.

50p for a glass of water...you are having a laugh...apparantly its glass hire!! the prices are ridiculous and aimed at keeping the clientale exclusive (in ringwood you must be joking), but they must be cheap skates cause they have dodgy foreign sky!!

Don't particuarly like the fake Irish bit take on the pub but it served a decent pint.

Once a old coaching inn, now gutted to be a fake Irish pub. Don't ask me why.

Anyway don't go there, there's far better pubs in Ringwood than this.

Good lively pub with a good atmosphere.
Good selection of drinks at a reasonable price.
Good place to watch the football.

Good, lively pub especially on weekends. My only real gripe is that I had to pay 3.00 for a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale!

she's right, it is probably the best pub in town...good atmosphere, good beer, good home cooked food. Friday and Saturday nights are busy, but nice mixture of people, while weekdays it's a friendly place to be, with accomodating locals. i find Mr Nonwell's comments amazing, obviously it was a case of wrong place wrong time, maybe he should return to see the place in it's true colours.

I'm not one of these people who post info on pubs that they've never been in but I see that I'll need to expand on my previous comments to illustrate my point. I went in here on a Sunday afternoon by myself and was quietly drinking my pint when three 'lads' made it pretty plain that my presence in the pub was not required. I don't know these people, they don't know me and as I say I was having a quiet pint and bothering nobody. And your comments about it being the best pub in Ringwood are frankly risible. They don't even serve a decent pint!

Comments about this pub being the local thugs pub are completely unfounded - has this guy ever been here? It's the best pub in Ringwood!

Local thugs pub. Yes even Ringwood has one. Try the Inn on the Furlong instead for a decent pint in a non-threatening atmosphere.
