Large American style brewpub which was packed on a sunny Friday evening in an old carpet factory on Glasgow Green. In general it caters for an affluent younger crowd. I had the Hefeweizen which was superb. My companion the St Mungo's lager and Red Beer which was also enjoyed. The food is German influenced. The burgers are much praised, but I had the Wiener Schnitzel which was OK. You probably need to reserve a table if you are planning to eat tho'.

i used to drink here often the first year it opened, the beer is decent enough however the food was so much better before the place changed hands. This place is in its element when the sun is shining.

Have had a few visits to this place in the last few months, and always enjoyed it. I've found the beer to be of thoroughly decent quality - I've visited Bamberg in the past, and while it's not quite that good, West's beer is certainly comparable considering it's a very new venture - and have also enjoyed the food (in particular the Sauerbraten and Wienerschnitzel). The "Bonfire Beer" (late 2008 special) was particularly good - dark and smoky.

Was in there last Saturday, and there was a wedding reception going on there. So busier than usual, and certainly helped the atmosphere.

I don't know what it was like before changing hands, but I'd definitely recommend a visit now. I've also seen their excellent St Mungo Lager on sale in the Three Judges at Partick Cross.

Last went late 2006 and revisited recently on 21 June. Most tables were taken with everyone enjoying themselves. Beers were fine and they must be doing something right to still be there with this type of venture. Food great with speedy and pleasant service.

Uninteresting and over-priced German style lagers + hefeweizen - but the Germans do them better! No point in having a brewpub if they cant brew better beers than these. Located in a former factory, which explains the uninviting interior. Food is not exactly haute cuisine, and a bit over-priced for the quality. Friendly staff though.

A shame, given its potential and location, that the service was lacklustre and unfocused (two hours for a one-course meal with obviously reheated fries). Could do with management attention. Their own dark beer was excellent, unlike the weissbeer which had a certain lack of depth, body and flavour.

Nice fresh beer, german food, good value. However the time I went it was practically empty, so not sure if the atmosphere is up to scratch.
