You can drink cocktails and play chess!! Breakfast is a bit meh. Having waiter service is a bit annoying for a drinking place.

Perfect for a social drink in comfortable and civilzed surroundings. Decent premium lagers available (I feel it necessary to mention lagers as most people who review on this site tend to believe that it isn't a pub without ale) and not as expensive as you expect with such a classy atmosphere. Professional and friendly staff. A winner.

I've been going to this bar since since it opened and it just improves. A great place for people who want to enjoy a civilized outing, daytime or evening. Not a boozer by any means but a place to relax in an eclectic ambiance with great food and nice organic wine at very reasonable price.Super fantastic!

Great atmosphere, friendly relaxed and sophisticated, and it seems to attract a lot of regulars. It is waitress serivice even to buy drinks which is a nice change from the usual scrabble at the bar in many other pubs. Also because it is sitting room only it does not get too crowded on a saturday night and it attracts a slightly older crowd who may want like me to escape from gangs of lads and laddettes getting loud and hammered . It is also a very nice place to chill out and people watch on a wet afternoon.

Sometimes up and down this place. But when it gets it right, the food alone puts it among brightons elite. Good: sunday roast (lamb is to die for), Pizza, Table service
Not so good: a bit slow when busy, confusing amount of blackboards. Overall had two great sessions there and hope to return.

Excellant place. The pizza we had were one of the best we had for ages. Even our very fussy daughter liked the food. Location excellant. Right in Norfolk Square. Good atmoshere - very relaxed. Definitly go back again soon

Food is excellent, music cool and an eclectic mix of people. Never had any problems with slow service.

One of the few bars in Brighton offering a true continental style service. Very relaxed atmosphere. I found the food excellent and reasonably priced. Freshly prepared so one expects to wait a little longer. Well worth the wait. If speed or binge drinking is your thing then you would be better suited to a pub. But for a relaxed evening out with friends and good food i would recommend The Atlas Lounge.

Has it's ups and downs. It is painfully slow on service and I've frequently been given the wrong bill at the end of the evening. Organic burger is superb though!

Slow service. They went all continental on me and wouldn't let order at the bar.......table service only. Thats lovely when you are on Holiday, but i wasn't. All i wanted was a round of drinks for me and my co-drinkers, without the 10 minute delay. Service aside, the surroundings are nice enough and it has outdoor seating. Maybe visit if you have a few hours to kill and are not particuarly thirsty.

Not sure what the last posting means, perhaps they could elucidate. Not experienced this myself. The slow bit comes from the bods pouring the drinks rather than the waiters from what I have seen.

In no way what it cracks itself up to be - service slow- not well managed i suspect and attracting some very odd people, not a place where I could ever feel safe and comfortable,

The Atlas Lounge is not necessarily somewhere you'd look to spend the night drinking.

However, it is a great place to go for lunch/dinner with it's very relaxed atmosphere and surroundings - the food is good, though the service at times be slow when it is busy.

Enough choice for Veggies, and the Nacho platter is plenty for two people and is great value

Well, I have to disagree with Crizqo's comment below - I am not a 17 pikey and I did enjoy my short time there - ordered a Bellini and it was divine. Good luck to Crizqo with his 17 year old Pikey girlfriend!!!

Nice enough. Not really as classy as it likes to make out, had a feeling of a place where pikeys take there 17 year old girlfriends as a birthday treat. Have heard some good live music there though and impressesd my 17 year old pikey girlfriend

This bar has nice atmosphere, with sophisticated decor without being stuck-up. They have reasonable prices and you can get board games from the bar. It does tend to be fairly busy and if there are no seats, standing around is awkward.
