Fairly pleasant country pub at a road junction. I couldn't get to the bar initially as a couple of women were playing darts and blocking access. When leaving the pub, they'd stretched a dog lead across the pub, creating a tripping hazard. Staff seemed friendly enough. But there are clearly some inconsiderate patrons. Ales were Timothy Taylor Landlord, Otter Amber, St Austell Proper Job & Wells Bombardier Glorious English.

Visited pub last night, excellent meal, served quickly, food hot. Very friendly staff. Entire pub including toilets extremely clean. I think gjones989 who criticised The Moon sounds a very ill mannered, unpleasant character who is unlikely to be welcome in any pub just to use toilets and wi fi without purchasing something, facilities are for customers use. Visit and eat at The Moon you will not be disappointed, great value for money!

We were made really welcome at The Moon when a group of us called in after finishing a walk along the Wye Valley. We had a lovely pint (or two) of Otter Ale. The new owners (I think they have been there about 5 months) were very friendly. We went back the next day and had a Sunday Roast which was delicious and very good value! Will definitely be back when in the area again, and would recommend to others.

Hello it's the Landlady here, please do ignore the 2nd comment down, we went on holiday and employed a ex publican to look after the Moon for us when we got back he then told us he had a problem with a member of public that justed walked in to use the toilet and then walked out straight past him with out saying anything. he then did confront him. my husband and I run the Moon we would of ignored the situation if we were there, I do infact think it's 'not on' walking into a pub and not asking to use the bathroom when you are not a customer. so please do not listen to this comment below we are a happy bunch here!

Me and my family had a lovely meal at the moon inn recently, the food is all home made, even the onion rings! the service is excellent, very welcoming owners with their lovely black labrador, my children loved the bouncy castle, and the garden has improved drastically, I can say were be back very soon.

DO NOT GO IN THIS PUB. Landlord is a money grabbing, unfriendly, spiteful man. Objected to me popping in to use the toilet without buying anything.
Said: 'good' when i said dont worry I wont come in again. Actually, FOLLOWED ME OUT TO MY CAR IN CAR PARK AS I WAS LEAVING, to make sure I left.
Never been treated so bad in my entire life, and have lived in the local area all my life. I would visit the nearby THE CROWN or BUTCHERS ARMS in Woolhope or THE GREEN MAN INN/NEW INN in Fownhope. Much better friendlier staff, who dont object to you using the toilet and have free WI-FI.
AGAIN I WOULD AVOID THIS PUB.

This pub has changed considerably, the staff are all helpful and friendly and even more welcoming. The new couple that have recently taken over have really turned it around, with much higher standards. The restaurant is well presented and food is delicious! There is an open fire and even a gorgeous young dog that runs around welcoming customers...great place!! and great value for money!

Standards seem to have slipped since new landlord has taken over, VERY limited menu (bring back the old favorites) staff now seem a bit scruffy and dont seem to care anymore. food not upto much, cold and very little of it. Not over the moon with this place sorry.

After reading the previous comments i decided to revisit this establishment and found the staff and locals to be most welcoming. I enjoyed a wonderful meal and can honestly say the beer was oustanding. I would recommend anyone to try this place you will not be dissappointed.

Had good times at this pub, but found the management/staff/locals a bit snotty.

By rights this should be a good pub. When I have visited it appeared empty except for some bloke who had his six kids with him climbing all over the threadbare furniture. Not 'over the moon' at all.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal here. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was freshly cooked and very enjoyable. There was a good variety of food and was accommodating for vegiterians. The atmosphere was plesent and overall would highly recommend. The pub also had a great character.

Great traditional black and white pub. Very frendly and knowlegeable staff, fantastic real ales, good quality home coooked food, real log fires, perfect after a long walk, the kind of place you never want to leave.
