This hidden away gem was a real live spot in the 70's The Nibblets had it then I presume retired now.
I would love to go back and see what is like now.

Called something else like Mango's now. Not what you'd consider a pub any more.

Establishments like this are now all too commonplace. Take one historic 16th-century pub that is down on its luck, call in the interior designers, rip it to shreds, stick in bright lights, and hey presto, one faceless, soulless modern pub aimed at people who have delusions of grandeur, and who really canít be bothered to walk an extra hundred yards in search of anything with a bit of charisma. Functional but uninteresting and boring and not a place I can see myself returning to in a hurry. Will it survive the aftershock of the recent global financial crisis? I doubt it!

not the Dark Lantern anymore, it's called My Place (probably a pun on MySpace) with a view to bringing in the after hours crowd. It might work but it's situation in town, stuck down an alleyway and not much in the way of passing trade, probably won't help, good luck anyway.

Surprised to find it still closed in August, on Hobble on the Cobbles day. What's happening with it?
