At this moment in time the 10 cask ales include 6 from Tiny Rebel plus 2 from Kent with the promise of the full range of Redemption to come , Superb ! Sipsmith summer cup is the perfect cold drink for the current warm spell. Something for everyone.

Good quality pub. Lots of choice, especially if you like Dark Star.

Defo worth a visit if in Islington. Not to trendy, but good quality ale.

Worth a visit

A decent, bustling pub in spite of its location tucked away on a side street behind the Jury's Hotel. Decent choice of cask ales, worth a visit.

Visited for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Had been to one of the other Craft Beer Company places in Farringdon and was left feeling a bit cold.
This place is much nicer, though, and feels like a proper boozer - albeit with a much larger selection of ales than you would find in your average pub.
Priced in bands according to ABV and the four I tried were all very good and well kept.
Staff were friendly and obviously knew their stuff.
A few pies on sale (£4.50 each) which were nice and went very quickly. They've only just started selling them and, judging by demand, will need to get a few more in.
Posters up for a beer quiz and also several meet the brewer events, so full marks to them for doing extra stuff to get the punters in.
Considering this place was once apparently a complete dive, it's now very good.
No TVs, though, so if you're wanting to watch football, you'll have to go elsewhere.

One other thing. Do not ring the phone number on this page. The pub has no telephone number, Beer in the evening will take your money for the call without disclosing this fact. Anywhere else that would be classed as fraud.

Fantastic pub (Craft, not The Lord Wolseley). Has about 20 different ales on tap which are fairly priced, and a large fridge with dozens of bottles, so would be a great place for a session, though most people were taking it easy. Nice decor, has a three rooms and a decent garden. Doesn't do food or have TVs.

THIS PAGE IS OUT OF DATE
Pub closed in the summer and new pub on same site called the Craft Beer Co.

Please send me a PM if there is now a way to get the new pub listed as the links on the site "tickets" do not work.

Craft Beer pub, leased from GK. As reported below, knocks the you-know-what out of the other pubs around Angel. It's more of a 'pubby' pub than the one in Leather Lane, this one has carpets and furniture. There is seperate seating space, with a little 'nook' around the back for those intimate liaisons ! Amazing how they squeezed all the pumps and taps into such a small space. The cask ales are served from a sort-of 'double-decker' beer engine, with two rows of taps, one above t'other. When things are busy it resembles three people trying to play one piano !
As to beers, similar to the range at Clerkenwell, with the addition of a couple of Cromarty offerings. Late opening (1.AM?) Friday and Saturday.

now is the craft and now is the best pub in islington by a million billion . the beers are amazing and service fantastic , had a smoked porter that was off the scale and today i had kernal stout that again was ff the scale . beer served very well. 10/10 easy.

Was drawn in by the sign advertising traditional ales, and the lack of competition in the area.
Best of the 'traditional ales' was Old Speckled Hen. Decent pint, but not inspiring enough to keep me for a second. Or maybe it was the slightly funny smell inside the place too.
Thai food, on the other hand, did smell decent, and there were plenty of regulars sat around drinking pints of fizzy stuff.
Decor wise was pretty much the same as the last review, apart from some newish looking bar stools, so obviously not much has changed in the past four years.

Brewery - Greene King

Fairly standard local boozer, not too hot inside by the landlord and the slightly filthy barmaid are nice enough. Shame he only drinks tea though. Only one real ale on - Green King IPA. A few lagers and Guinness. Does Thai food and seems very proud of it. Big squashy sofas in front, a raised dining area to one side. That's about it really. Nothing to write home about. Clearly has its regulars which is good.
