Popped in before Warriorfest last night. Really excellent proper pub. Staff were really really friendly and keen to chat about drinks. 3 Ales, London Pride, Ghost Ship and Sharps Atlantic - really good tasting and good price - £3.30. Comfortably the best pub in The Hard area.

Fantastic Pub situated in Wickham Street (Just off queen Street near main dockyard gates and hard interchange.) Massive changes since the new management took over last year. Fantastic range of drinks from all over the world and decor really spruced up. Military discount given to serving personnel and veterans and friendly staff. Try it out and i'm sure you won't be dissapointed.

Popped in for a pint at 1130 (am) after missing the ferry.

IMO a pleasant little boozer. Some old boys were already ahead of me, but otherwise quiet.

Decor had a naval theme as you'd expect. Had a pint of doom bar which was good and cost £3.10 bargain

Would definitely return.

Barmaid / landlady was friendly too.

Scary Scary PUB

Pitbull loose in one corner
Large tattooed people everywhere and that was only the women
Probably a good place for a fight

I didnt even stay for a pint.

Had a pretty reasonable steak & ale pie in here last week, washed down with a lunchtime half, worth coming back for.

On a back street behind close to Portsmouth Harbour station. A friendly enough locals pub that was a quite alternative to the packed Ships Anson. Doom Bar was the only ale on though - drinkable though no great shakes.

Re-opened this week, having been closed since New Year. Selling Doom Bar (2.60) and Flowers (2.65) and the usual selection of fizzy stuff. The Doom Bar was good. New manager seemed pleasant enough and was talking of extending the range of ales to utilise the four hand pumps he has. He was busy giving the kitchen a deep clean and planning to start serving food after the weekend.

Ok nothing special, handy for dockyard. Think it was friendly enough think they have some coins superglued to the bar so somewhere there has a sense of humour.

best pub at this end of town, by far

A friendly place where the locals go, and a good jukebox - don't bother with the pubs along the hard if you want a decent pint.

Was a really good pub with lots of decoration influenced from the Royal Navy. Swords and rifels hanging on walls and is really comfortable and has a good atmosphere the pub was taken over by new tennants around early June 2005 as im sure nothing will of changed since.
