Modern chain pub (Ember Inns) heading out of Banbury. A couple of their beers were "coming soon". So the range was not as good as I was hoping - Brakspear Bitter, Bass, Navigation Britannia, Ember Inns Pale Ale, Hook Norton Lion & BRU Red Ale. Most other people were there for the food and were paying up as time was edging on. There are better pubs in Banbury.

Good food ,they do tend to get busy on a friday.Nice pub to sit and people watch no one bothers you

Lovely pub where you are virtually guaranteed a decent pint of cask ale. Staff are welcoming, foods great and it's nice to have a pub without children running about the place (and I say this as a mum).

An Ember Inn on a busy road surrounded by tidy houses which seems reflected in the customers. At 2pm more people eating than drinking.Four hand pumps ,Jasper by Beartown Brewers (ran out) Old Hooky ( very nice) GK IPA and Tim Taylor (not tried) and all the usual lagers.A pleasant enough place.

Big pub with large bar area. Menu is varied and not expensive. Beer is Ok, real ale needs some work.
overall good value edge of town pub with good parking and rear garden is nice if the sun is up!

Most of the staff try hard, but the beer is down to the guy running it! It's often difficult to get a decent pint of cask ale. They advertise cask ale promotions that don't happen! I only go back because they offer food all day and it's edible!

This is a fairly local pub to myself but I have rarely used it. However recently they laid a 30th party bash on for me and with very short notice accomodated over 30 people for food. There was not a single bad comment from anyone who attended. They did an excellent job at very short notice. Would definately recommend and will now make it my regular.

Needs a decent manager and then it would be a really good pub. He leaves the youngsters to it and although they are nice enough they dont have the experience. The manager never makes sure there are enough staff serving on busy nights. He is losing customers but he gives the impression that he couldnt care less. Its a shame cos the food is good and the bar staff try. Its just becoming a bit of an ordeal

I live across the road so it is my local. New managment have arrived and it has gone down hill in a big way. I feel that another change of managment is a must to bring it back to a reasonable pub.

Out of town pub, recently knocked through into 1 large room, with alcoves. Often 4 Real ales available, mostly of safe standard brands. Good wholesome food available, this is an Ember Inn, standards do change with the latest manager though. Large garden with childrens climbing frame.
