There is a planning application to demolish and replace with a block of flats. Comments via Merton COuncil's planning department until 5th February.

Maybe they can turn it back into a gay pub. But this time by people who know what they are doing, and employ staff who are friendly. The cliquey atmosphere and certain stuck up staff members (deluded when you see they had no reason to be)ruined this gay venue.
I can't comment on it in recent years, as never went back when it turned into a chav pub, and with good reason reading recent reviews!

Wimbledon desperately needs a gay or gay friendly pub. Future licencees take note, this is a potential goldmine if managed correctly.

Or maybe they'll just knock it down and build some lovely tiny faceless flats instead!

Local goverment are due to close this place down after riot police were called there on Friday 7th March, seems that the pub is just a front for other activities!

Whats happened to this venue, was a gr8 "gay" venue with gr8 entertainment.
Is it still open, will it ever be "gay" again?

chav pub now, stay clear unless you like getting into fights with spotty 17yr olds e'd up. also i think it's ran by gypo's who don't have a clue about owning a pub, the record to date is 4 police cars, 2 police vans and an ambulance. yeehaaa don't ya love street entertainment......

This pub is under new management, everyone is welcome in this pub (as before it was mostly the gay community). It has all skysports and music chans, and every wednesday there is a darts knockout tournement with cash price, also karaoke. It gets really busy at weekends, nice atmosphere and good prices.

Have just moved into the area. Went to this bar on Monday, Thursday and Friday last week. Never got more than 10 people on the three days. If your looking for a place with a lively atmosphere and reasonable priced drinks avoid this place.

Visited the pub Friday 5th Nov 2005 for the first time, it was pretty empty at 9pm (me and my partner were the 2nd and 3rd person there!) by 9:45pm there were maybe 30 people, no-one else turned up before we left at 10:45!

People seem friendly place looks newly fitted out, very clean and new, plasma screens, cool decor etc.

Crowd seemed a little 'clicky' but probably because there were so few people in there!

I would go again as I've moved into the area, beer not cheap.

Give it a try if your in the area, got a proper DJ desk, new toilets, nice little stage, lots of standing and sitting room, sofas, gas fires etc.

No real downsides.

great pub if you like to sit on your own all night, last few times there found we was the only ones there, so service is good!! disco is ok as there is plenty of room to dance (because its empty) great place to go if you are a man, but not many girls in there.

Awesome people; friendly to the hilt; Ms Kitty is a riot! And George, let's not even get started...hilarious! My best friend's favorite haunt and a great intro for me to gay bar life in London and meeting with real locals! Rickie the singer, Nigel the super-polite Brit, Andy the profound Ameri-Brit, Keith the hoppin' DJ...a must-see if you are in South Wimbledon!

Its a great pub, bar staff and the manager are really friendly and welcome everyone who visits with open arms. They have a different theme everynight of the week and its always a great laugh. Wednesday night is Kareoke with Kitty and its such a good night. Everyone gets a vodka jelly who sings a song and if your feeling nervous about singing on your own Kitty will come and join you. This is one of the nicest gay pubs i have ever been too and is well worth a visit. So if you around this neck of the woods come say hello to George, Keith and the boys.

I had a great day in there years ago before a United v Wimbledon match. Drunk as skunks, stapled a hat to the wall, broke the light on the pool table and the landlord replaced it without complaint. No evidence at the time that it was a gay bar. Especially as the bar maid was chatting me up.

Finally, a good ol' gay local in Wimbledon. Gay run & very welcoming.

This is a cool and friendly pub to be involved in. Forget about how the pub used to be. It is much more better and more relaxed. Every Thursday is Quiz nite with Izzy Loud. Fri and Sat the DJ is Gizsy. Ok no one special but is very cute. The owners are excellent people. You really have to give it a try.
