Ray,

Whilst I may not have worked at the pub for a while, I still use it (as a customer) a couple of times per week and so feel that I am well placed to voice my opinions - hence my original post.

And while you may find me back behind the bar to help out on the very odd occasion that they need it, you can rest assured that my "glowing report" is not any attempt to get my job back as I have set my sights a little higher than Head Bar Steward!!

I look forward to seeing you in the pub soon for a couple of pints.

Have thoroughly enjoyed this pub for over three years, and I can't think of many places (IF ANY) in banbury I feel quite as safe having a drink! There arent many places a girl can feel comfortable going in by herself, but would be quite happy going for a couple of drinks on my own in there. Staff are always happy to talk and you can have a good night without the usual clowns who drink in town.

thank you for owning up to having worked their, as i was only guessing that you did after such a glowing report, how do we know that your not trying to get your job back by writing these reviews. if your not their all the time how do you know if theirs any problems

Ray, yes I have worked at this pub in the past but haven't worked there for at least 6 months. As someone who frequents a great deal of pubs is it not right that I am allowed to voice my opinion - especially as it's my local???

oh dear it seems sky blue dude forgot to tell us something very important, and that is he actually works their, so not really a balanced view of things. the good news though is he can keep us up to date on all their special offers on food and drink and any forthcoming events.
concerned local !!!!

Well they say each to their own, but I honestly cant believe that lilscse is commenting on the same Flowing Well that I have thoroughly enjoyed having as my local for the past 7 years.

The pub changed hands in 2005 to a lovely young couple who have put everything into ensuring the business is a success - treading the fine line between making some much needed changes to increase the customer base whilst also managing to keep the current regulars happy.

The bar staff are extremely friendly and approachable - doing whatever they can to make your visit an enjoyable experience.

The pub has also just released a new menu of delicious food from light bites to belly busting mains at extremely reasonable prices.

There are regular live music nights, a competitive Sunday Night Quiz, several team nights Darts, Pool and Aunt Sally, a pool table which is always ready to be used and a brand new jukebox so you can give everyone a musical education

The pub is fortunate to attract a healthy group of friendly locals of varying ages who are always ready to extend a warm welcome to any newcomers who may find their way there. Add that to the fact that the Landlord, whilst being very fair, will not tolerate disruptive behaviour, and you have a safe, friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy a pint or an entire night out.

The pub has never been known for a wide selection of real ales, which is a pity. However the range of drinks on offer provides something for everyone and with Carlsberg and IPA currently retailing at 1.99 (for the foreseeable future), a good time can be had at relatively little expense.

And as for the comment regarding the continuous decorating, whilst it is true that the pub was completely refurbed in November 2008, it was the first time the place had seen a lick of paint in about a decade and, in my opinion, looks much the better for it.

Long live the Flowing Well!

Oh Dear Oh dear...this place has gone downhill......nowadays its a bit of a lottery if they have any real ale and somedays every other type of beer on offer .....they run out of beer, crisps, nuts etc on a regular basis and the place seems to be in a continuous state of painting and decorating and DIY
Used to be a predictable reliable pub but not any more I`m afriad

just far enough away from the town centre to avoid the rowdy weekend crowds can be very quiet early week.....Greene King IPA only.... the rest keg beers..students frequent the place at lunch and early evening...sperate poolroom....caters for the usual pub games including AuntSally in summer...burger and snack type menu ....though Sunday lunches are available but MUST be booked beforehand.....locals are friendly which is a nice change.......Very busy quiznight[Sunday]

A little out of town, but handily placed close to the College, this is a steady, unobtrusive Greene King house. Just serves the one Real Ale and a barrage of lager, it is the haunt of students during the day and locals in the evening. Jolly Karaoke, quiz and sport nights. Not bad but not great either.

Used to live a couple of doors down so was a regular for a while. Nice, cosy friendly pub. Off the usual circuit so none of the usual idiots going in. Very much a locals pub but not at all cliquey which is rare (and good!)
