The Avenue Bar has become a private venue bar to be hired for parties and business meetings it has also been changed to The Chequers Function Bar.

The bar has been completely refurbished to a very high and modern specification and the owner Barry caters for a variety of functions e.g pool tournaments, weddings, birthdays etc.

I hired it myself for a party and we were looked after very well and we had a great evening!
Thanks Barry

Yeah popped doon from Glasgae with a few pals eh, very hospitable regulars. Met a soond man named Billy eh, told me he was a main face around Stoneleigh and the surronding areas, think he said he wus the leader of the Chelsea Youth or sumthing.

Anyhoo I would recommend it tae anyboady passing or even traveeling from a far away place

Thank you for having the ska night last month.

Was an excellent night. Is it happening again any time soon?

Yeah, Im gonna walk in a bar full of skinheaded fat blokes in chelsea shirts and tell the owner that their patrons are racially abusing passers by....get real.

As for hiding behind a message board, surely the point of this board is to give an opinion, im simply using the board, but your confrontational attitude of calling it 'hiding' is pretty much a good example of the average patron of this place.

The fact that south london coppers drink in there is hardly an advert is it mate, Stephen Lawrence ring a bell!

you have your opinion of it, fair enough, My opinion is just as valid, and in my opinion its frequented by racist scum, coppers or otherwise.

Wrong again sunshine! Racism is not acceptable and maybe instead of hiding behind a message board, you could have taken the trouble to report the matter to one of the owners! Also, regarding your comments about the patronage of "The Avenue", please allow me to inform you that several police officers including one based in the Royal protection squad, Professional businessmen and owners of local shops in the Broadway frequent this bar.I would like to point out that the bar has been open for 18 months and the Police have never been called to attend any sort of incident! .At the end of the day, if you don't like what's on T.V you click the channel. If you don't like drinking in "The Avenue" Don't drink there!

no no....calling passing women "Paki's" isnt intimidating at all ! well its obviously acceptable behaviour to you being the sort who drinks in there!

This is a nice Bar, Run by Tony and Barry. You can always get a fresh cold pint here, my favourite being the Kronenburg cold! They will also do you a very nice coffee and light snacks to order. The place is very welcoming and and caters for the local resident's both young and old. Okay a number of Chelsea fans do go here, understandable really as most of them have gradually moved from South London, however it is no way intimidating!!

for a perfect example of what im referring to, a few days ago a patron was calling a passing woman 'a paki'....lovely place for complete turds to drink.

If you are a Chavski fan then this is the place for you, park the pitbull outside and wonder at how a decent looking bar has been overrun with nothing but chavski fans, the schoolboy-esque Chavski Flag on the wall really says it all about this place. Avoid like the plague.

This place used to be a papershop and was then converted into a bar. Nice place and serves a good pint. Shows the football on the big screen
