Closed.

Pub now closed and in the process of being converted into a private house. Additional planning consent granted to build two houses on what was the beer garden. Any trace of it ever having been a licensed premises removed. Very unlikely ever to be a pub again.

Looking at the planning application not one single objection was lodged with the planning authority, congratulations to the local residents who managed to give up this village pub without even a murmur of dissent.....

A pleasant local pub with a friendly welcome.

One bar with two rooms and restaurant room at the rear. Beer garden. Selection of two ales at time of visit including Skinners Betty Stoggs which was in reasonable condition.

We had a meal at the Goldolphin Arms last week - we always stay at a campsite in Carleen (next village) . Small country pub ...Welcome was great we phoned up earlier to book a table - landlady lovely..very helpful ...food was excellent - steaks are to die for...so is the Death by Chocolate dessert - lovely old traditional pub - great pub food, great welcome - car park at the back - we recommend this pub if you are on holiday in the Helston / Hayle area

Pleasant local pub with nice little beer garden. Two good real ales, though no food the Friday evening we went. Everyone in the pub was very friendly, saying hello.

Interesting reading the comments, I found this pub to be very unfriendly, the locals look at you as if you shouldnt be there ! the beer was nothing special and the food awfull, I have tried it twice now and wouldnt recmend the place.

Stayed in a campsite a mile up the road November last year. This was the nearest pub - fortunate for us it was a good one. The ales were good. We spent most of the time knocking back the excellent Betty Stoggs by Skinners of Truro. We had food on a couple of our visits which we also found to be good. Comfortable interior with nice bar staff, I'm looking forward to visiting again when I'm in Cornwall again this November!

7 of us visited this pub end of july. Never went back. Indeed the Barmaid said it was strange that many tourists go there and never return. We soon found out why - the food is terrible. Although if you like a plate of grease then it's good I spose. Chips were grease laden. Chicken was grease laden. Bread was dry and hard. Beef burger was the type you get in supermarket about 10cm across - not good when the bap overhangs by 5cm all around. We left and never went back even though it was the closest pub to us which is saying something. Beer was ok I guess although cannot remember due to the awful 'food'.

This is one of those pubs that as soon as you walk in you know that you have made the right choice. A little off the main tourist track but this is no bad thing.
The beer is well kept, the food is excellent and the landlord and staff very friendly.
If you are near Helston,Porthleven or Hayle take a trip out and pay a visit, well worth it.
