Goose, Britwell Salomeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The Mr Chubbs is indeed excellent, and you'll struggle to find a beer on their roster over 4% due to the fact that most people have to drive to the place, but thoroughly well-kept and moreish it is. As evinced by previous reviews, much emphasis on the food, which is superb, if a little pricey (a Le Manoir-trained chef I'm led to believe), but the pub does make concessions for the drinkers, and it was good to see a smattering of locals partaking of a Friday night. Friendly and attentive staff are another feather in this establishment's cap.

Visited with Mrs Monk on 17 May, primarily I suspect an eating establishment, which is why we went, but the ales were superb. There did seem to be a small area set aside just to drink but this was lunchtime so might be different for a beer in the evening. Beers on were Mr Chubbs lunchtime ale and Loose Cannon Abingdon Bridge both great - the Mr Chubbs is one of the best session beers I've tasted in a long time. I restricted myself to 2 of those and 3 in total. Food was excellent as well, definitely visit again. 7.5/10

Fish and chips now �13.50! However, although I was slightly overwhelmed by the set-up on entering the Red Lion, the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the roast beef toasted sandwich, which although �5.95 was worth it in terms of quality and quantity.
The pint of IPA was fine if not exceptional. There is adequate room in the garden outside if you just want a drink, or indeed to be served outside. All in all, it�s worth frequenting after a morning�s walk as we did, or (and I saw a happy family gathering there) to have as a venue for a meal.

yes it has reopened and it is another restaurant pretending to be a pub. Its menu is limited and pricey - �12.50 for fish and chips!! squeezy ketchip and mayo bottles are dissapointing. No samwhiches, not walker or family friendly. Do not recommend...

Contrary to previous expectations it has not been transformed into a private house. The pub has been rescued by the nearby farm. In the process it has been renamed The Red Lion and reopened as a restaurant and pub.

Although, as a restaurant, the Goose won several Michelin stars it is now closed. It is now a private house. The nearby farm shop confirms that fixtures and fittings from the kitchen were sold several weeks ago.
Sad, but perhaps the building was just too small to be profitable. Not enough space for enough customers.
