Wow what a change The Hole in the Wall went through a massive recently, It is now back to how it used to be. A comfortable loungey bar/restaurant. same great pizzas some new beers like estrella dam, its a touch more up market than the previous incarnation great for both wine and beer drinkers, and with staff who look after you and know what they are talking about. We had the lunch club offer which was food (pizza, salad or wrap, i think) and a drink for just 6.25!

It looks lovely and feels really comfortable. I can't for the weather to get nice so we can make use of the rood terrace.

"anonymous" does know what he's talking about and I still do. It's still a poncey place full or pretentious people. Pizza was reasonabl priced although mine was a touch on the crispy side. Beer is still badly served with far too much head on it. Staff take note... a lager doesn't need an inch and a half of head on it.

Staff are about as responsive as roadkill. The music is a load of toss and far too loud. Noone can talk to each other, you have to shout in each others ears.

The one thing this place has which I forgot to mention in my last post is the open air roof terrace which I have to say is very nice when the weather is good and there aren't too many people on it.

Rubbish poor of lager (it isn't bloody difficult, I shudder to think how badly they'd do ale), staff are uncommunicative also. Music too loud and prentetious wine bar atmosphere in evidence. Might be better in the evening though.

Dark, dingy, bland. No ale although the pint of Kirin Ichiban (3) I had was passable though.

One Elm is much better.

You cant beat the 5.50 pizza + drink deal. Best pizzas you'll find anywhere in Stratford without a doubt! Lively, vibrant atmosphere most of the time and a good quiz on wednesday nights.

"anonymous" does not know what he is talking about - the hole in the wall is one of the best places to eat, drink and socialise in Stratford. unpretentious easy going surroundings, very friendly staff, great food (especially the meal deal - drink plus a 12" homemade pizza for 5.50). Bookcrossing book table in teh corner, quiz nights, bands etc.. Go there - you will not be disappointed!

Poncey, pretentious rubbish. Was crap as the slug and lettuce but at least it served decent pagers. Pizzas are good. Music is too loud and the seating in there is absolute crap. Staff are unfriendly and generally quite obnoxious. Bouncers there have never been a problem. Has the serious advantage of the roof terrace. This pub is trying to be something it's not.
