Even though the last comment is nearly 15 months old I agree with it 100%. The pub is clean, tidy and presentable. Service is good but it lacks......something. The pub next door is a hell of a lot better. But I'll still give this on a 7/10 rating.

This pub is okay. The food is okay. The beer is Greene King, but if you avoid that and go for the guest, then the beer will be okay. The landlord is friendly. The place is clean. The regulars are friendly enough. It's all okay. It just lacks character.

Fabulous pub ,warm welcome, great food and simply the best Sunday lunch in Berkshire. Rooms are good and its the ideal location for racegoers, walkers or tourists.

Horrid and bright inside, go over the road. See the pub inspectors comments.

This pub ticked all the boxes for me; good, home cooked and fairly priced food, exceptional well kept beers, roaring log fire, en suite bedrooms full of character, warm and plenty of piping hot water. The tv area was seperate and has sky sports to satisfy my love for football, rugby and cricket. Enjoyed the Tribute and Morlands. There was even a selection of books to browse while I waited for my dinner, the angus sirloin was superb. Sunday lunchtime was the place was heaving and dedicated to the magnificent roast I tried both the mouthwatering topside and leg of pork (crackling to die for). Next time I am in the area working, I will definitely stay there.

Stopped for a quick lunch on Sunday and had a good meal. Pub was very busy and the staff very friendly and attentive. Will definately return.

Went in here for Sunday Lunch yesterday. Nice steak, dreadful undercooked chips. Morland and Tribute available on handpull. Tried the Tribute, it was not quite at its best. The staff were friendly and attentive but it was so quiet, there was no atmosphere in the place. I did not visit here before the refurbishment so I can't really comment apart from the fact that it all looks rather bland and characterless like so many other pubs these days.

Everything you would expect and more from a village pub. Very clean, honest home cooked food, well kept morlands original, greene king IPA and guest ale. Also good selection of bottle conditioned beer. Superb, competitively priced en-suite accommodation including bridal suite. Unintrusive sky sports in seperate area away from main bar. Beer garden and covered smoking area. A greene king Refurbishment gone horribly well

Oh Dear, another Greene King refurbishment that's gone horribly wrong.
