Lovely location and nicely decorated. However this pub is hardly ever open and as a part of The Sun hotel, it suffers from the same bad management.

A winning feature of this bar is that it has a number of french doors which open into the pleasent courtyard of the hotel. In the warm summer evenings this can be a haven for those aged 25-40 and I would recommend to all. The security (Arif) has been long standing for not far off a decade and has outlasted numerous "powers that be" mainly because he's one of the few doorman in hitchin who always has a smile for all punters. Not open during the week as it's just a secondary bar to a hotel. If you venture to the otherside of the courtyard (Mon-Thurs) there is a bar with quiter surroundings which serves quality food. Don't waste a visit to the otherside of the courtyard on your mates, take you woman. As an ol' employee you can take this pretty much as gospel!

A Hitchin favourite for a Fri/Sat night. Not even open during the week - which is a bit odd? Excellent 'Clubby' music from friendly (not pretentious!) DJ's means it's always packed soild - as is the large courtyard garden. only bad points: long bar queue + the draft beer gave me a belly ache - still, there's always bottles :-)
