please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The words 'Greene King' have been painted out on the pub sign. The bar area seemed to have been freshly painted inside. Pleasant garden with nice view of the Ouse valley.

I see no mention of the ales in these previous reviews then.
So we can only assume there wasn't any being served.....its a pub for goodness sake....it might be homely n comfortable n serve nice pub food, but what's the beer like??
When I used to visit it was dreadful.....GK.
has it changed yet? Doubt it.

Had a fantastic time at "The Cock" the owner is extremely funny and professional all rolled into one . The food was also very good - pity about the student working there. We felt a bit uncomfortable having normal adult conversations in front of her even if she does have a cute south african accent - a bit dipsy but then good staff must be hard to find in the village. Could be she`s the daughter of the owner - oops! Overall a great pub - I would highly recommend it and hope to visit it again soon.

Small but extremely welcoming - the customer service and the attitude of the staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Drinks good value and a nice atmosphere. When I visited there was an Italian food night, 3 courses and wine, which looked appealing. Food menu also very good.

I have to agree with the last comment made, this is a very nice pub, excellent friendly service, very relaxed atmosphere in a very quiet area, quite cheap as well.

What a difference these new owners have made to the pub. I was shocked when I dropped in after my country walk to be greeted by a friendly couple who couldn't do more to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Their sandwiches are simple but extremely tasteful and the bread is wonderful. You can see part of the kitchen and the lady is spotless. The garden area has been cleaned up and the transformation is wonderful. For those of you who might not know, you annoyed the owners if you asked for anything like ice or water and all they ever did was scowl at you. Well done to the new owners and your bread is delicious. Only drawback - I dont think they serve food during the week at lunchtimes.
