Unfortunately this place has developed a reputation for being racist, with a number of friends of East Asian/Oriental appearance turned away by security who said it was 'a members club'. Absolutely untrue, of course. The same excuse was conveniently forgotten when I and other Caucasian friends fronted up.

The migration of East Asian chaps has been caused due to the closure of the unlamented 'Kudos' down near Charing Cross. There are now obviously a number of gay SE Asian men looking for a local in the West End and Ku-Bar, being in Chinatown, seemed a good choice I guess.

I suppose it is only human nature ... that a gay pub would be racist though is a bit sad, honestly.

It was an OK place upstairs for a cocktail or wine ... though downstairs is a bit dire unless you are 20 years old, but until they have their 'issues' sorted I will not return.

Went to the comedy night here last Friday and it was such a blast! I was a little disappointed I couldn't get the time off work to go to Edinburgh this year but Soho Comedy Club had Iszi Lawrence as a compere (awesome lady in her own right) Luke Toulson and Sol Bernstien - you can't even get that line-up on TV and it was live.

Really friendly atmosphere which was cool since I've never been to a gay bar before and was a little worried about what people would think :0 Is probably the best value thing you can do in the area as it was only a tenner. Nice one, def going back.

Bar staff seem friendly but the clientelle are terribly stuck up and full of their own importance. Gay people can be so unfriendly - not remotely interested in revisiting

The new Ku Bar (on site of former Polar Bear PH) was heaving last weekend. Sat night it was 1 in 1 out only. Got small selection of Draught on tap, downstairs open till 3am free admission. Kewl bar, certainly giving some new style to the west end bar scene. Bit overpriced (Fosters at 3 a pint) but great atmosphere. Wonderfully attractive bar staff and glass collectors too....

Havent been in here for 5 years and it hasnt changed much. Still very up its own arse. The manager/owner is the most hateful man. I was looking at the dukebox to select a song when he pushed me out of the way and proceded to put 10 worth of songs on, I couldnt belive how awful he was. In any other bar in London the Landlord would allow you to select the songs and certainly not deliberately make you wait 2 hours to hear the songs you pay for.
No draught beer.

Popular gay bar on the Charing Cross Road, just out of the way of the Compton St crowds.

Frequented by a mainly younger crowd (18-30), it's very popular as a pre-club destination and for the cheap jugs of cocktails! I've been going here for 5 of its 10 years, and always found it to be a great place to have a chat with friends. It's also one of the few gay bars in Soho these days where you've got a good chance of being able to sit down, due to the numerous chairs & tables downstairs, plus the large seating area on the upstairs level.

Music tends to be fairly poppy, but they've got a music video system now and it never gets so loud that you can't hear yourself think.

Definitely worth a visit, if only to eye up the attractive barmen.
