Now re-opened after a reputed 1 million refurb as The Barracua Bar. Not sure what they spent the money on as the only diferences I could see were a couple of Palm Trees outside and some giant tables inconveniently placed onwhat used to be the dance floor. Has an extensive South African menu apparently which will have to do well as after the novelty value has worn off I'd imagine it will be as empty as the Rectory used to be.

When the Rectory first opened its was really modern and fantastic. But in the last year or so its gone down hill. Its not as busy as it use to be, before you actually had to queue, now you can nearly get to the bar without to much hassle. The drinks aren't too expensive, you can get 3 bottle's of red square for a fiver! The toilets are getting as bad a rendezvous. If you go the one's downstairs then be careful you don't crack your head on the way down or slip on the broken glass. You'll be lucky if you find a toilet with a working lock and toilet paper. My friend once used the toilet's upstairs and actually found lice on the toilet paper, the barman didn't believe her until she showed him. Good music, nice staff and an alright pub, but avoid the toilets as much as possible.

I used to work as a glass collecter waitress at the old rectory weymouth for 1 year and 4 months it went frm an ok place to such a messy untidy dirty place!near the end i was imbarsed to say i worked there. i tired my best along with another glass colecter to clear all glass but as there was only 2 of us to collect wash put back and clear all the drip trys ash try it was hard and for working for 4.20 an hour on a weekend from 9 till 2 was not worth it!! it needs a whole change and gud luck to the new manager as he has been landed with a load of problems from the last one. THe staff are brill and dont deserve the sh*t they have to put up with loads of them have left and its just goin further down hill!

Started out as a trendy concept in Weymouth in a much needed regeneration of the town. A visit today for "coffee" advertised on the chalk board outside was horrific. The coffee was slopped at the bar, served in a grotty chipped mug. My hot chocolate was served in a cap, still dirty with lip stick from the last user. Complaining to the bar man, gave the attitude of couldn't care less. We decidied to leave not drinking anything.

The decor looks like it has not been cleaned for ages, the sofas, and carpet areas are crusty with filth.

Usually dirty esp. the toilets and the beer is of poor quality. Food also is a big let down.
