please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

this is now called The Three Johns and it is a fairly open plan old style looking place with some real ales on and numerous craft beers, it has a slight trendy Islington feel though not as marked as places on Upper Street. The ales (Grainstore) was fairly drinkable.

No longer the Jay Cubed; it was great 2010, but became an unpleasant shambles in 2012. It's now called The Fallen Angel. It's had a minor facelift and they now have a pulpit in the middle of the pub from which a DJ was playing some decent songs. They've still got a TV showing Sky Sports and I think I saw someone bringing in a Dominos, but the pool table has been removed from the back room. Has a decent range of lagers, but no ales. It was pretty dead on a Friday night, so not many reasons to recommend it.

Dire, not one Hobgoblin ale in sight, and a strange dark interior, think they must be aiming for the goth crowd.

Now called 'The Hobgoblin' it's a Wychwood pub serving a pretty full range of their bottles and Hobgoblin from cask. Ideal for groups of 4 or more, it's a short walk from Angel tube. There's a pool table in the back room and a well stocked juke box of mainly rock. The beer can be a tad dubious, and the hobgoblin is not always on. Finally, beware of the landlord's dog, it has a habit of sampling unattended beers!

Not bad at all.

It fails on its disgusting toilets that stink and often make the whole place smell of shit.

Other than the manky bogs and the stench that you're greeted with, it's ok.

Would have got a 7/10, but gets a 4/10 due to the nasty toilets.

Just been converted to a Hobgoblin, well there you go.
Looks really good, i'm maybe a little biased i know the manager Liam. Worth a visit .....

Gone downhill rapidly. Draft beer is disgusting, bar staff unfriendly, place generally unclean and very overpriced. Oh dear, oh dear.

This used to be a really lovely pub but has gone very downhill. Wallpaper hanging off the ceilings, tables quite grimey and the female toilets always flooded. Even though it has been mentioned to the bar staff on at least 4 occasions in the past couple of months, still nothing has been done. If you like wading through loads of water to go for a pee and then not being able to wash your hands after as you can't get to the sink where the flooding is so bad then drink here!

Only been on a Sunday afternoon/evening, both times its been well quiet. Bar staff are unfriendly. No real ale. Thinks its cooler than it is. Best avoided.

Really good pub; a bit more expensive but then you get what you pay for. Good music, good vibe, good night.

i had my birthday party at the jay cubed last saturday and it was absolutely brilliant. the staff and doormen were so helpful and friendly, and the music was excellent. we were all dancing till 2am. everyone had a great night and i will definitely be going back to the jay cubed in the future xx

Groovey pub, varies wildly between calm nice place with big leather sofas for chilling out, and crazy full party time.

Always good music. Open late, so good to remember if you're in the area and the Elbow Rooms won't let you in. This place is much nicer anyway.

we had the time of our lives. We love jay cubed. We had a few drinks and a little something to eat. We both snogged two boys each. I'll definately be going back. Look out for the two gingers...

More like a bar despite looking like a pub. Good music on Saturday nights, tad pricey for drinks.

Pretty cool pub from what I remember. Finished off a mini pub crawl there on my birthday. A few of my friends were chucked out for being drunk and falling over but the bouncers them them back in later which was quite cool. Oh, I lost my wallet there as well so if any see's it please let me know. It's brown and had some money in it.

Well it's my local and I wouldn't go anywhere else - great in the day to chill, fantastic in the night to party. And yes the bar manager is definately top quality Irish totti

Wicked bar, it's got it all from a chilled out vibe in the day to a proper party atmosphere on weekend nights. Oh and that bar manager makes the best Long Vodka in London!

Great bar, fantastic music, chilled out and funky! The bar manager also makes for good eye candy for the ladies!
