Very nice comfortable relaxed pub (seating and atmosphere wise), great tasting pint of BBF Sunrise was quaffed, 8/10 shall return!!

Reasonably busy for a Monday night, seems to be popular with student types.
Barman was friendly enough, and they did a decent pint of Stowford Press.

Good atmosphere and a good selection of ciders in particular (mostly bottled). Very busy, so unfortunately the service was poor.

Great if you get there for a pint after work - gets a bit crowded and loud later.

Was here Thurs 8th. What I can only describe as a TW*T was behind the bar pretending to be Tom Cruise making cocktails. Anyone ordering anything else was not worthy of his interest. Eventually got served an 85% full pint of Bristol Beer factory ale by a disintersted young girl, which was a bit soft. And due to Mr Wonderful showing off it took 5 minutes to get a grudging top up.

Noticed another ale being changed, and not for the 1st time,it appeared they were putting the new barrel on without rinsing out the dregs from the line.

Yeah and it was smoky. JUNE where are you?

This COULD be a very good pub. However, it is very, very smokey. There does not seem to be any ventilation at all and, even as a smoker, I found I was nearly choking on a busy Saturday night. Food is good but wildly overpriced....better to walk 200 yards down the road and get a Pieminister pie for half the price.

They sell Pieminister pies.

Amazing choice of spirits and beers - including the new Beer Factory local ales, the Pipe and Slippers is a must on and GLoucester Road crawl.

Cracking DJs, great food (Hmmmmmm piiieee) and a really nice atmoshpere I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Had a couple in here on a stag night - pretty cool place with a good choice of decent beers

Anywhere that sells Stowford Press, Westons Organic and Thatchers Traditional ciders in additon to Portuguese tapas and Pie minister pies is a top pub if you ask me!

I certainly liked it, interesting beers with some good ales, Erdinger Pils plus some continental bottles. Comfy armchairs and a spacious feel. DJs spin some hip-hop and other tunes some evenings, it's open late as well.

Definately an improvement on the dingy Berkely Castle which used to be here, and a world away from the 'spoons Magic Box across the road. It's good to see some new decent places open down this end of town.

quality pies, sky sports for the footy, pristine cocktails/dirty cider depending what mood you're in and no pretence at all makes the pipe a surefire hit...

(p.s. the minted mushy peas bang!)

can't see why someone only gave the pipe 4, it's v friendly, good beer, locally made pieminister pies (delicious)all in all pretty good!!
