Ok pub, with plenty of barstaff to serve you. Shepherd Neame range of beers, very well kept. Sky Sports available for Premiership games. Noise does rebound off the wooden floor and walls so can have an echo effect. Overall does a good job and quick service is always well received.

It gets default average for just being a good Shepherd Neame pub! However, its mainly a place I would go to for food more so than for a drink, even though it is a Neame pub.

Characterless compared with nearby Tigers Head probably due to being more of a gastropub than a pub that also serves good pub food. Fantastic pint of Masterbrew though, although, only two beers on tap and no hint of ever serving any guest ales.

I like this pub, the interior could do with a freshen up as sometimes it really smells in there. My only other gripe is, does the Sky Sports need to be on all night? It can put off women.

Other than the (gravel pit of a) beer garden, there's precious little in the way of seating at this pub. It seems to have sacrificed most of its space to its ill-attended 'gastropub' section. I have had mixed luck with the food here but as a pub it's so-so. It's quite dull, to be honest. Unimaginative interior - they've got a sofa to mix things up a little, but that's about it. The ubiquitous Sky Sports hovers Big Brother-like in the centre.

Comedy value provided by the guy who hops over the common to try and flog his pirate DVDs to outdoor punters every Friday night. It's harmless enough, nothing big to complain about, but no distinct good points other. Average.

I love this pub. The food is fantastic and the staff are really good. I've hired the function room twice in the last 12 months. It's been recently redecorated and is lovely. I plan to have many more functions there and will regularly visit the restaurant area.

Who picked the interior? It's not an All Bar One. Fine ales though.
