This is a good pub overall but there is a BUT, good for sport and if you like golf this pub is for you. Greg and his staff are normally give an excellent service, there have been a few times that the customer service is has been poor and it seems to be the same member of staff. I found out the member of staff is Steph and due to this its below average rating.

The Buff was a disgrace the beer wasn't bad, but the worst thing was the woman behind the bar who I found out was called Steph was the most miserable and rude person I have ever met in my life. First off she was so miserable when she served me. Then later I left quarter of a pint on the bar to go and use the toilet when I came back literally 2 minutes later I found she had thrown it away and when I had the absolute audacity to tell her I wasn't happy about it, she had a right go at me and threatened to bar me.

Needless to say I won't be going back there!!!

We visited this pub one evening midweek with the intention of starting a pub crawl but ended up staying here as it had a convivial atmosphere. It's smart inside and plenty of places to sit/stand. The bar staff were very friendly and remembered our drinks from the off. Although there was a football match on that night, so plenty of people watching, we were still able to continue talking freely at our table far enough away from the screens not to be overwhelmed by it. Have to say that the locals were pretty friendly too. All in all a nice friendly pub. (Didn't have any food so can't comment on that.)

Visited there with family for a lunch. Took advantage of their two meals for 9 promo and were good sized portions. Had a pint of Old Speckled Hen which went down well. The interior was quite smart and not too dated whilst the staff appeared to be friendly and helpful.

Overall, the visit was a positive experience though I can't say what it's like there in the evening as I went during lunchtime. Needless to say I would go back again.

7/10

not child friendly at all, the manager threw out a six week old baby because he was crying waiting for his bottle to cool down after staff had over heated it. No apology from the manager, the company did write to her though after they complained.
they wont go there again

Doesn't even attempt to keep real ale.

I disagree with the person. Regular user of the pub for the last 15 years. Pub is always busy, serves nice meals, cool lager, good bands and never smokey.

Pretty non-descript 1950s building. A pool table, juke box, and not much else of note. A Courage pub, with little or no atmosphere, oh, and the beer isn't up to much. End of story.
