Well, I poped in, The food wasnt that good im afraid, would have rather eaten at home realy, and the drinks were well over price.
I wasnt going to put a post here but I read that one about the attitude to the youngsters.
I think thats a general thing, the womman I presume was in charge was really snippy with us too... felt like she was looking down at us because we were in trainers. I felt quite taken back by her apparent mood, I wonder if she is always like this?
So, I think - poor food, Poor service, and not a very well run place at all.
I dont think I will be comming back.
P.S. I did see a leaflet about a New year ball... at 50 a ticket, again, I think I could stay in that night with a pot noodle and a pint that wont cost 3.00 Thanks

Had a meal last Saturday, which was fine. What was disappointng was the Landladys treatment of a group of respectable youngsters that came in for a drink. They were not drunk and were well behaved, but it was clear she did not want them there and with her rude remarks they were forced to leave. So much for the CUSTOMER IS ALLWAYS RIGHT!

Excellent food, one of the best meals I've had in ages whether it's been in a pub or "real" restaurant, urban or rural location. It's not cheap, but it's of a high enough quality that it is still excellent value.

Beer selection was good and well kept, happy for me to try a few before making a choice on a pint. Not so much a boozer, it's definitely a foodies pub, but if that's what you want then great. That said the beer garden could be good for a session on a good day.

Staff could be a little more friendly and welcoming, but no real concern on that front.

I will definitely be heading back regularly for the food here.

Excellent food and a fairly wide selection of beers (and some Thatcher's ciders too). A little "upmarket", with both the upside and the downside of that phrase. Yet some of the best food in the area.

Very very good food, some interesting service however with the most rude and obnoxious manageress you are likely to find. On the polite mention of a slight area of dissatisfaction with regards to our meals she loudly said,
"I knew you would complain. You LOOK like the complaining the type. It must be the gin and tonic"
And on a separate occasion after phoning up to cancel a booked table some 60 minutes beforehand I was very aggressively reprimanded down the phone for not canceling in sufficient time. Of course I didn't tell her that was canceling due to a death in the family, but i shouldn't have needed to. Unacceptable.

We stayed here recently and were made to feel very welcome. The beer was good and there was a nice pubby atmosphere as well as a thriving restaurant. Food not quite as good as I had anticipated but was nevertheless excellent.

Fantastic Pub with a great Homely atmosphere and fantastic food. Some great real ales and local beers available and the menu (particulalry the Beef Wellington) is to die for. A must for any beer and food lover.
