This pub has been re-opened
Me and my husband took a visit a weekend in Nov 2011
A fantastic young girl is now running this pub the new manager with some amazing staff they are such lovely people very friendly and helpful.
She has put a lot of heart and soul into this pub you will be able to see that by your first visit .
Great customers service they are funny and cheerful.
As this pub has always been known for trouble, drugs and more change over hands than any E17 pub it looks like they might just have a chance this time.
The choice of ale is limited right now only two pumps but they have a guest one in every month a change of drink for the punters.
The beer pumps are full of every favourite beer my husband loves a Carlsberg so he was happy me I love a wine and They had some fantastic ones available at such a low price.
We had arrived just after there happy hours and WOW it was 1.75 a pint that discount was on every pump and a fantastic 1.75 a single shot of any spirit a double I think was just 2.50 with them prices I am more than sure everyone there was happy .
The place was very clean and tidy you could see they were getting new stuff put up and fitted the customers all loved the new super size screen for the football and a warmth of this place is now starting to come back.
Loved the visit well done Brooke.

Has been closed for some time, but looks as if it might be reopening as a pub again.

I would not go to this pub unless I was on a pub crawl. I would have one drink, then leave...quickly.

As at 23 March 2010 this one has closed again. Very recently by the looks of it. The affable African gentleman guarding the place indicated that it may be for good this time.

I work near to this pub & have seen this pub change hands so many times and none of those hands were good for much in the last few years.... but credit where credit is due the new owners a young Irish couple have really turned it around. Nice, clean, warm and friendly. They had a live band there on the sat night i went in, staff where friendly and pints where nice... will def use more often now...

Currently CLOSED for 'Technical Reasons'...this pub is hardly ever open for business and when it does another sign goes up within weeks saying they're 'closed' again

I cannot work out if this place has just opened or is about to close as there is hardly any stock! A very scarey place though. I was the only person in there without a scar and 2 of the customers were woman!

Not a bad place halfway between the Village and Wood Street. Is known to have a bouncy castle in the summer, which can be fun - and possibly dangerous - when very very drunk.

This pub is consists of friendly, welcoming locals from all walks of life. I for one have a fantastic time on each visit, and I'm certainly far from what the scottish refer to as a 'ned'. Ok it maybe situated infront of a housing estate - but let's not forget, we are in east London - housing estates are hardly uncommon.

I think the Scottish have the best name for the type of people that frequent this place, they call em 'Neds'.

Bearing in mind it's in front of a huge housing estate I shouldn't be surprised really.

Save your money, walk 10 minutes up the road to the Queens Arms and go to a proper pub !
