Visited at lunchtime while out walking. Cracking pint of Surrey Hills Gilt Complex (3.40), other beer was Hophead. Very pleasant sitting in the large garden. Landlord and landlady very friendly. Good pub.

Wallpapering seems to be the biggest issue here. Wow.
I didn't eat but everyone seemed to be tucking in fairly.
If only all pubs were within adequate distances.

I was slightly apprehensive about going to this pub with some friends for a meal, but went as I had visited a couple of years ago for a family event and it had been great.

We were not attacked by any dogs (she was asleep on a sofa) and the beer was really good. I had several speckled hens just to make sure. . . .

Food was pleasant with lots of veggie choices. Landlord and landlady were chatty and welcoming.

We will visit again.

This pub was recommended to me and I'm so glad I looked it up. We were on our way back from Guildford ice rink and took a short de-tour to Ockley.

The pub was warm and friendly and Paul, the manager and his staff are polite and attentive. Varied choice of lagers/beers and wine.

We stayed to eat and my smoked haddock fishcake was delicious, a meal in itself and I somewhat regretted choosing to have the moroccan style chicken because I didn't have room for a pud. My dining companion had the Soup of the Day (which would give Heinz a run for their money) followed by the ribs which were meaty and very tender. He did manage to squeeze in some cheese and biscuits with a choice of four different cheeses, three different types of biscuit and a choice of butter or low-calorie spread (guess which he used?)

Sadly the pub is a bit too far from where we live to make it a regular, but the next time I'm in the vicinity......

Very friendly and relaxed Pub serving great food. Fairly priced for the area.
The visit was made extra special by the resident Boxer dog, soooo cute!

Nice pub this with a nice big garden at the rear. Landlord and landlady are very friendly as are the other staff. Haven't eaten here yet so can't comment on the food but the Guinness is always well kept. Wish it was walking distance to my house as would definately spend more time here.

Funny that Katherinemorgan has only ever reviewed the one pub ? What a stroke of luck that EVERYTHING was so perfect in the only pub she has ever commented on. Bit touchy about race too. Antipodean is not a racist term. Johnwarkestache gave an honest report on what he saw on the day. Maybe katherinemorgan should get out and about a bit more ?
Just a thought.

Hi everyone, I was passing through Ockley and stopped at the Inn on the Green! I walked in to find the gorgeous Kia (the pubs dog) on one of the big comfy sofa's, then was greeted by the lovely staff, who are polite and very attentive, and gave great service.
The food was amazing I had the pate and found it to be lovely (contrary to the previous comment) and for mains the Karim's Special which was absolutely to die for...nearly did after eating it all...HUGE PORTIONS!!!
I couldn't brave a desert but they nearly had me after I heard they were all home made, and after seeing a couple come out I'm still wishing I had!
Overall I would say good food, great family atmosphere and wonderful service thanks all!!!!! hopefully see you again soon.
Also I would like to add that I myself am a fellow Australian or as the previous user would like to describe me, I am a Antipodean. This remark is incredibly unnecessary and for someone to feel the need to describe anybody by their race says alot about their own character!

OK I guess. Spacious inside, as in garden, with the pub dog wandering around. Has a "house music" evening on Friday nights which I was surprised to see in this area. Staff seem to be mostly young Antipodeans, some of whom could do with investing in a belt. Not bad although would say more family orientated than traditional. Wasn't being used on our visit but BBQ area out back and hog roast too I think. Wouldn't touch the pate again though. Worth a try, especially if with kids/grandparents in tow

Last Saturday, May 9th 2009, landlord & landlady Paul and Gwyneth hosted our wedding reception.

Without question, I have to say that they and their dedicated, clever chefs and staff gave us the most wonderful day - and the food was amazing.

From our seated lunch in the afternoon for thirty five people and the fabulous buffet in evening for one hundred and twenty, - to the lovely en suite bedrooms and our full English breakfasts on the following morning, the food and service was beyond fantastic.

All the food was created and cooked "in house" and we cannot say a big enough Thank You to Paul, Gwyneth and their brilliant staff for making our day so special.

Our home is twelve miles from The Inn on the Green, but we will definitely be making this great pub and restaurant our "local" from now on.

See you soon Paul and Gwyneth!!

With best regards

Dave and Mafra Young.

Great pub, setting is great with a huge green with wonderful views and quaint cottages everywhere, inside is great as well, low beams, lots of room and a great garden. Everyone was friendly and the service was perfect, greeted with a smile which is nice. Menu is very impressive and the pies were great. Had a great time and will certainly be going back again and again.

Hi all, my partner and myself have been to this pub several times in the last two months and felt at home as soon as we walked in, greeted by a warm fire and having a comfortable place to sit.

It was a sunny sunday afternoon so we decided to have our roast dinners in the pubs beer garden, as we walked out of the back door we both noticed the colourful primrose flowers which imediatly bring the garden to life, and after reading a rather harsh report above i can honestly say there was no dogs mess in sight !

We both really enjoyed the roast dinners, the portions were very generous and such friendly staff.

Myself and my partner will definatly be back soon.

In a picturesque part of Surrey, The Inn on the Green is a well-run, multi-faceted establishment: its a restaurant, a pub and a B & B. This was our fourth visit to the Inn. I have been overwhelmed by the excellent food and service.

If you enjoy haute or nouvelle cuisine with a predominantly British flavour, then you will be delighted with the Inn on the Green.

Note that the restaurant is at the back of the premises and should be considered as a separate entity from the bar area at the front. At the front youll find a traditional village local with banter and revelry no doubt reminiscent of the Inns 15th Century origins. Its a super setting for a swift snifter before your meal. We also tested the bar food here and werent disappointed. Its good solid pub grub.

But if youre looking for something a bit special, unhurried and food that satisfies all your senses, the restaurant is the place to go.

Went to the Pub last night due to comments left by others on this site and wasn't disappointed.
The service was excellent, the waiters very attentive, and the food was of a very good standard and exceeded our expectations.
High recommended.
Oh the beer was also very good with two choices from local brewer Bill King. Two other hand pumps were turn around so I guess that four can be on at one time.

Went there with friends 4th July - they had been previous and recommended it. All that has been said in blogs is true. Extensive menu with staff who really wanted to please and serve.
Yes, it was very quiet - maybe the musicians who (tried to) play from 9.30ish drove away the regulars.
Nice pint of Ace of Ales - new beer to me.

We took two friends here 2 days ago, and the service was excellent and very attentive. It was a Friday, and surprisingly quiet, but the restaurant was impeccably clean, and the food just as we'd ordered.
It has a big car park, but this is a few yards north, and there are spaces opposite the pub - a good idea.
We'll go again, and highly recommend it.

Took my mother and the entire family here for dinner the other night to celebrate her birthday, was a lovely evening made all the more pleasurable by the great food and the excellent service! Blade1 - Thanks and keep up the good work.

As a pub/restaurant ..... great! Loved the setting, the atmosphere, the bar staff were friendly (especially the Scottish guy) - and Kia, the dog, was a sweetie! We couldn't find fault with the food, it was lovely. Having stayed a weekend, though, there were a couple of things that weren't quite up to the standard of other places we've stayed. Mainly small things, like a shortage of towels and the room wasn't checked during a two night stay - tea tray/toilet rolls weren't replenished. I'm sure there wouldn't have been a problem had we asked for these things - but I don't think you should have to. Similarly with breakfast - a delicious full English, but we had to request an orange juice and weren't offered cereal, which is very unusual. The one major complaint would have to be the impossible shower, not good! Gwyneth was very welcoming and overall we had a nice weekend. Any criticism is meant contstructively because it IS a lovely pub, hence the rating.

We had a really excellent roast dinner here on Mothering Sunday with all the family (four generations inc baby and our daughter who has severe learning lisabilities). The owners and their staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive especially as the pub and restaurant were doing a roaring trade after 3pm.We had a superb bottle of Rioja with the meal and a pre-prandial pint of King's Red River Ale which was bang on form. What a memorable occasion! We'll be back!!

Great atmosphere here when my girl friend and I dined here, the meal itself was second to none and the evening was topped off by the quility of the service that we recieved by the members of the staff.

Myself being a chef and in the industry every day of my life I will be back to the Inn on the Green 'The Green Rooms@ again with family and freinds by my side the next time we visit the establishment.

The extensive menu and the superb international wine list is great.

I will rate is as a great night out and an intimate place to be.

Really friendly pub with great food - went there to eat with the wife and kids and again with a business colleague - overwhelmed by the choice on the menu and friendliness of the fairly new owner (Paul). Wife and I booked a night's accommodation on our anniversary and the rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A great Full English breakfast and reasonably priced. I said I would recommend them!
