please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited the Steamhouse on a weekday evening. 3 hand pumps of which 2 were on at the time of my visit. Ales available were Roaring Meg (Springhead Brewery), which is the one I went for, and the other was Project B (unsure of brewery).

The Roaring Meg was a good pint, slipped down nicely, no complaints.

Inside there is a small area in front of the bar and some additional seating on a slightly raised level to the side. It is fairly small though so fills up pretty quickly, but didn't struggle to get a seat on my visit.

As "Caskales" has already pointed out in the previous review, I have also heard that this Steamhouse is owned by the same people as the one at Urmston train station. I have passed the one in Urmston many times but not yet visited, need to sort that out...

This place is now called Steamhouse and I believe it's owned by the same owners of the Urmston equivalent. It sells 3 real ales and plenty of unusual beers from around the world. This place is possibly the best place to chill out and enjoy a decent pint, it wouldnt look out of place in Manchester'so called Northern quarter.

Used to be an ok club/bar (for a small town club) ideal if you couldn't be arsed going into Manchester City Centre. Had some brilliant nights about 5 years back when the Italian guy(Guiseppie?)run it. Was open week nights inc. Monday til late (before the 24 hour liscence thing) Then all the staff changed when the place became under new-management...and the place went right down hill. All the old JFK/Level ten/Waggon/Bulls head/Cuckoo's nest crowd seem to only go in there thses days. Its turned really rough - and a place where you havr to watch your back! (Sums up Sale actually!) SHAME! Used to enjoy going in there - the facillities were a bit crap (especially the lack of toilets!) But the club itself was alright, the Staff were amazing! (Especially Phil and Justin the Dj's, and the other two young lads) The bar staff were great too. Seen Ray the old head door-man the other week. He does the door elsewhere in Sale now. Top man! Overall the place has gone completely downhill. Bit of a dive now- extremely rough. Gone back to how it used to be in the 90's. COME ON! BRING BACK THE BABALOUS OF 2000 - 2003! Re-hire ALL staff, get back the old babalous crowd! Bring good nights out back to Sale!!!

WAS A 8/10......NOW I HAVE TO SAY.......1/10 (it is really gone that bad! (Like most of Sale really!)
