The Cock Inn is back open and seems to be doing well. I did like the room to the left just for darts, so no chance of anyone getting in the way of play. Aiming for the TV football crowd. Three beers on and I'm including the corporate brown stuff called Doom Bar, now made in a chemical works in Burton I believe. It is certainly not Cornish. Apart from the Ghost Ship there was Bombardier English Glory at £3.70 a pint. It was OK but not worth that much. Place was cold but it had just opened. I know it has struggled to keep open with health and safety saying no one is allowed to live on site. Shame about the location with the busy X road here, but it was quiet, traffic wise, inside. I may come back but not in a hurry.

Closed and boarded up (July 2015). Shame as this once was a cracking boozer.

A really friendly local with a good pint of Adnams on draught. We were pasing through on the river and caught the Karaoke night which was great fun. Left handbag behind (absent minded) which the landlord very helpfully posted on to us.

Best pub in Bishops Stortford. A little gem.

Spent a decent couple of hours one Saturday afternnon. A bit "locals" but still ok.

Visited here in the summer. They opened late - had to wait 20 minutes, the whole place smelt of bleach, and the lady behind the bar was not all that welcoming. I don't think we will bother to visit again.

Good friendly local pub. Smallish but never too crowded. Adnams Broadside is always good here. Only one Pool table but you can usually get a game - only one "working" cue last time I was in there. Amongst a fairly low standard of pubs in the area this one stands out.

this is the only decent beer pub in the whole town - trust me spent 3 years researching it! - Beers always good broadside and adams landlord actually put some effort into the decor - nicely refitted - very small though so can get crowed and noisy quickly but we live in stortford and there are seven pubs closer than this one but we still go there - says it all

Yet another fault free visit, this pub goes from strength to strength, since the Enfield heavy left.

Lovely historic, family-run pub, recently expertly restored, with great open fire, wide range of wines and beers and friendly personable service.

Great landlord means the pub is largely idiot and teenfree, and probably the best in Stortford.

Now reopened following refurbishment and amazingly it has actually improved the place. There is certainly now a better selection of beers and the whole place seems roomier.
