Strange little place that seemed to attract a fairly trendy crowd. The cocktails are expensive. The beers and cider were too. Ales on were Adnams Ghost Ship, Jennings Cumberland Ale & Wychwood Hobgoblin. Doom Bar was listed on the blackboard. But I believe it was off. Cider was Westons Traditional Scrumpy. Worth a try if you fancy something a little different.

Now called Shaker and Company. Doubles as a cocktail bar and cocktail school! Also serves real ale and some interesting bottled beers. Tried the Timothy Taylor Landlord and Adnams Ghost Ship - both in pretty good nick. Nice place and staff very efficient and pleasant.

Seems to enjoy a loyal following despite being slightly off the beaten track, but the appeal of this dark and gloomy place was totally lost on me. I can't say I really noticed its prohibition era theme either - for the most part the pub has a worn and tired interior, and if it was ever the stunning Art Deco experience promised on its website then this was clearly some years ago. Beer is also badly kept - they had two real ales on during my visit, and I couldn't stomach a second pint of either.

"A New York Bar in London" apparently. Perhaps I wasn't trying hard enough but I have absolutely no idea what this place has to do with New York. A dull, plain, pointless sort of a place, with a warm pint of Guinness that took an age to acquire from a bored-looking barman. Don't bother with it.

Generally good atmosphere but they do consistently run out of draught beer, lager and even some bottled stuff.

Went to a party here on Sat night. By 10pm they were out of all draught lager & beer, by 11pm the bottles had run out too. Crap.

No real ale as far as I could see, lagers included red Stripe and Grolsch, also John Smith's Smooth....
Service fairly prompt.
Previous review seems reasonable enough though speaking personally I will probably go again at least on the occasional Monday as they now have some decent live jazz on every couple of weeks.

As mentioned before, there is no real ale available, but there are some standard and premium lagers and I found the barman to be nice enough.

The bar itself is long and thin, but it has seen better days and could do with a lick of paint and a general clean out. There are some decks on the bar at the far end and there was a reasonably chilled atmosphere.

I had to pass two girls sitting near the entrance that were eating some sort of calamari dish that had a stench that hit the back of my throat with such power that I thought I was going to hurl up my liver. Above them were some small motorised palm leaves that were dispersing the foul odour around the bar so I plotted myself near the sweeter smelling toilets.

This place is unexceptional and I wouldnt plan to go here again.

Decent enough bar, had it been on the other side of the Euston Road it would be jammed pack everynight. Stuck as it is halfway down the Hamstead road its really only frequented by the estate crowd. Long bar, few decent beers. Good enough for a group stop-by if your near there (mexican restauant Metizo is 60 seconds away).

Slightly odd place. Trying for a prohibition-era theme. Shutters on the windows make it feel enclosed, not helped by the long, thin lay-out. Usual selection of beers you'd expect in a bar that's not that bothered as long as people are drinking. Not really a relaxing place to be, but not bad for a function/party, especially if you also hire the downstairs room.

Yeah, not much else around. Cramped and loud. No real ale. Decent happy hour I guess.
