Who need's a Big T V to watch the Fighting, when the LANDLADY Fight's live. I went to this Pub a few week's back only to my Horror watch the LANDLADY Attack one of her lady Customer's outside. It was all premeditated and the LANDLADY attacked her from behind pulling her hair. It was all to do with the LANDLADY being a Large women and the other lady being a very attractive blonde. So i warn you lady's if you are SLIM and pretty give this one a miss

Im not sure what pub you've been in Andy, but it wasnt the arti. Firstly, London pride is Ale, not beer, which there is plenty of in bottles in the fridge, how beer is normally served... Also, if you opened your eyes maybe you'd notice the other drinks including shorts, spirits, real ale, lager, beer, cocktails, milkshakes, soft drinks and floats for children during daytime... I think it's you who is clearly confussed.com!
Excelent pub; ignore the old rubbish, its new owners have transformed this pub into an animal friendly comfortable pub, with plenty to do and even more to drink.

Hi Naveen and what particular hallucinogenic where you on when you wrote your review or is this the only pub you have ever been to? Its not a bad pub and I believe the people who have it work hard to run it as well as they can but the best pub in the UK? Think you need to seek some psychiatric help.

ArtiChokes the best pub at Norwich ..and I guess in the whole of UK.
During my short stay at Norwich, this was my favourite haunt. Very Homely, makes one cozy...and I tell you, this is one caring pub where you get so much of personal attention. I am addicted to its ambience, company, dance nights , ...and of course Red Wine and London Pride.. :D

Small choice of beers - London Pride and not much else. Is this someone's lounge or a pub? Cocktail or milkshake - never mind confused.com, this was confused.pub

lots of sofas, mirrors and screens in this interesting pub. the coke served straight out of a room temp bottle and the poor london pride let it down.

I have never been into the artichoke, just passed by when driving along magdalen street. I've heard however some bad comments, namely that it's a rough pub with the usual problems i.e. fights, clientele etc. What suprises me though is that certain people still assume that if a pub is situated next to a council estate/housing association complex, then the pub deserves to be branded rough. It's extremely sad that people make these comments without actually drinking there. Still, good luck to the new owners. I'm sure they won't be judging their customers purely on the basis of where they might live. All the best Artichoke!

Much improved. Just hope the new people can keep on top of things. This pub given it's location will require a watchfull eye if it is not to return the the bad old days. As it stands a good pub, good well kept beer and regualr entertainment.

This pub has recently been taken over by a lovely family. No longer eighties decor, now leather sofas, cream decor - very sophisticated. All crappy clientele have gone, loyal group of fun, friendly regulars. Pool table, games machines, djs, disco, theme nights, singers, bands, great atmosphere.

Eighties time warp decor. Attractive-ish from the outside though. Apparently has a loyal clientele: mostly harmless and inoffensive, no real ales to speak of and not much in the way of atmosphere. Plonked on the corner of a main junction with a Housing Association block directly across the road. Draw your own conclusions.
