"they do not like children in the pub"

Sounds a blood good reason to visit the place.

apalling. the landlord is slow and miserable, and the food is dire. they do not like children in the pub.

iv always had decent fresh cooked food here tbh n its not THAT much more expensive than most pub restuarants. it does lack atmosphere tho, pool bar needs sum backround tunes!!

If you are looking for very poor but over priced food and absolutely appalling service then this is the place for you. If like the rest of us you expect a little more from a pub/restuarant then GIVE THIS PLACE A MISS!!!

We called in at lunchtime for a pint and a light snack - the pub was spotless with a nice olde worlde timber-framed decor. The barmaid was pleasant, the beer excellent but the food only so-so and a bit pricey. I think pubs must be more competitive in these recessionary times, no wonder so many have closed and are continuing to do so.

This is now a good pub: warm, friendly, good beer and good food. Timber-framed building, inglenook fire in the main room plus adjoining room with pool table. Popular with people of all ages, including families. We like to eat here once or twice a month: good choice of food, good value and they take credit/debit cards too. Sells Adnams plus guest beers and draught cider.

Not a family pub, not a place to find good food. No credit/debit card facilities. Give it a miss.
