This pub is now closed and the plan is to convert it into flats!

The pub has now been taken over again, this time by one of the locals. All the local lads gave their time and effort to get the pub back to the way it was after being totally ruined by the last landlord.

Its back to the way it was, lively, welcoming and a really good laugh. Beers are great once again, and the price has dropped too! Big Screen for Sky Sports. Worth a visit now!

What can I say??

I am now withdrawing my earlier comment since the pub was taken over by a pair of halfwits.

The barman (aka Boris) stinks to high heaven due to having an aversion to soap & water. The beer (when they haven't run out) is foul to say the least (although that's probably the taste of the line cleaner), beer is now 3.10 a pint (although I wouldn't give them 2 for it).

The glass washer packed up ages ago, and Boris truly believes it is quite acceptable to simply rinse the glasses under a cold tap and put them back on the shelf for the next customer.

No phone, no Sky, no pool teams or darts teams (they left after being told countless times to "f**k off up the Vic), and the few of us that were left followed them.
Don't bother putting money in the jukebox either, because if Boris doesn't like your choice of music then he turns the volume down.

Since they took the pub over in January, there has been no sign of a cleaner whatsoever (although those with a complex about their height can walk tall over all the rubbish strewn everywhere).

Avoid like the plague (unless you want to catch it!!).

Real old fashioned locals pub, no real ales but Guinness, Carling, Fosters, Kronenburg, John Smiths and Strongbow on draft. No food, but no-one minds you ordering in pizza, chinese or whatever! Large screen TV with Sky Sports. Pool table (killer pool on Friday nights}. Dart board. Fruit machine. Juke Box. Quiz Machine. Open fire in winter. Large garden, badminton, football or cricket in the summer. Very welcoming atmosphere, good mix of age ranges, hardly ever any trouble. Dog friendly. Opens at 3 Mon-Fri Opens at 12 Sat/Sun

The chap behind the bar said that this pub had just been taken over. No real ales. No Guinness available either on my visit. A young man with an acoustic guitar was playing to a half empty bar.
