please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

If I've been here before, it's been over 20 years and my memory is a bit hazy! But I thought I'd give it a visit yesterday. I thought I remembered a bar that was above street level. But this one is actually slightly below street level. The pub now serves a real ale, which was Liverpool Organic 24 Carat Gold yesterday. It seemed popular with groups, with hen and stag parties and groups of football fans all enjoying themselves yesterday morning. It's central location and branding will always mean it's popular. But there is plenty of seating. Service was friendly. Not the best place if you enjoy your ale. The Abbey opposite seemed to have a much better selection.

Identikit soulless faux Irish chain bar that's best avoided, unless identikit soulless faux Irish chain bars are your thing. They're not mine.

I still love this pub , it really funny reading all the negative comments as you get the impression these people all want a quite local with an old man in the corner.
Its really busy at the weekend but midweek is fairly relaxed, more importantly its got music every night and it has great atmosphere, with some really nice food.
i think it the bees knees!! so there

Went out yesterday to do some last minute Xmas shopping.

Had 40 mins to kill before my train home and I went in this place.

What the hell was I thinking!!??

Paid 3.20 for a pint of Strongbow :'(

At 5.30pm the place was crowded as you'd expect on Christmas Eve and everyone apart from me seemed to be off their faces! Had they all just won on the Irish Lottery or robbed a bank!? How can they afford a night out in a place like this?

More importantly, how can they enjoy a night out in a Irish chain pub like this bog standard dump, the likes of which can be found in every large town and city in England, and which makes Wetherspoons look like Alma De Cuba or Circo!

went in there at 1130am on tuesday 5th with my 3 chrildren for breakfast, sat down looked at menu only to be approached by 2 members of staff one was ok but the other kept pinting his finger towards door,we were told to leave as no chrildren were allowed was not happy with their manner and would not return ever to any o neils bar.

Great place to watch the footy if you get there in enough time to get a seat. Had a very pleasant 3 pints in here while watching Leeds stun Man Utd in the 3rd round last weekend. Rangers v Celtic was on elsewhere in here too so dual receivers on the sport.

We got in, found a seat, got totally engrossed in the footy, turned round and the place was 3 times as busy. I like my pubs dingy so this was really good.

What can i say about this pub ........ It is the best place to start your saturday night out in liverpool the door staff and bar staff are all incredibly friendly and polite unless your very drunk and being a pain or obnoxious the best thing of all is the live band they have on friday and saturday evenings , johnpig i.e john o' connel and his bassist jimmy are absoloutly brilliant there well worth going to see

A generic bog standard irish pub selling over inflated ale and food.

Gets very busy at weekends and surprise suprise, expect to queue to get in on Paddy's Day

Nothing much to recommend this place.
A noisy pub selling standard beers. Frequented by scallies at weekends.

Cheapish, nothing special as it's the same as all O'Neills bars around the country. Plus they have bouncers in the evening. Stay away!

ONeill's is usually a very good pub but there have been problems with the bouncers' behaviour recently.

Good place, relaxed and friendly. Ebveryone mixes together. Does rock-on Tommy still get up and do a song?
