OMG . They've spent all that money to change it into O'Neils without the music . To summarize same bad beer without the ambiance .

Spent a lot of money to have a downgrade. Prices have not gone down accordingly. Looks cheap on the floor and walls. Not a place to return to.

I should hate this pub - No decent beer and they've never got any ice for shorts but and this is a big but ye gods they have the best acts on Friday and Saturday Nights - no one spectacular but the place is rocking - my favorite is Mullighan and Mullighan . Yes all of the other pubs in Moseley have a wide selection of pricey trendy drinks but when theres an act on this is the place to be ............

Glad to see they have finally got Sky Sports back in here. We again have a decent place to watch a game in Moseley.
It's interesting that, for all Moseleys independent, "trendy", "chic" (call them what you like, I call them overpriced) establishments, that the only two you're guaranteed a decent pint and meal in are here, and the Wetherspoons up the road....

Reasonable for an O'Neills, one of quite a few pubs in central Moseley really. How do they all keep going? Not sure, but it seems to work.

A weekend of surprises. In there Friday night, nice atmosphere, service instant, toilets.....clean (with some piped music) bloke doing a turn on the guitar......

One of the better pubs in Moseley, aka The Fat Farm. Guinness 2.70 a pint, efficient staff, bouncer to keep the nutcases out, toilets could do with a refurb. Usually have a band or singer doing a couple of turns on a Friday night, each act seeming to use the same songbook.

A difficult pub to review, you either like it or hate it or find yourself in between both. It`s a plastic pub full of romanticed memorabillia, a vision of a far away land that never existed...the truly Irish mates I know wouldn`t touch it with a barge pole! But I digress!....saying it`s a pub out of sorts with Mosely is wrong, it fits in perfectly with all the other venues in that it caters for the folks who like sport, beering, X-factor, The Sun and the Mosely Dance centre.....in other words out to get trashed for the weekend! The quality of the food is of no concern, or the beer, it`s there for a purpose and does it`s job well, fed and watered - what more do you want?! Ok the toilets are a pit and it`s a mission trying to get to them through the heaving throng but the service really isn`t that bad. You might get some free tunes from a band playing the Kaiser Chiefs (When they`d rrather be playing AC/DC!) and when it shuts the other pubs are still open.......

Beer is good - nice guinness especially. Food is weak. Barstaff are competent. Large outdoor space. It has a large amount of Kings Heath Oirish that frequent this place.

The biggest negatives are that they never put on enough staff at peak periods and that for some reason...it is a haven for flies. They're everywhere when you're at the bar. Honestly.

This is a good oneills, not many left though anyway...
Watching footy or the live bands on a friday is cool
Guiness sells well and tastes excellent here so worth tryin if you have avoided

Yeah it's a chain and in that respect, not very Moseley but its lasted and kept a loyal contingent of Carling guzzlers. And who ever went to an O'neills for a real Irish atmosphere anyway? The pubs clean, decent for a quiet pint or meeting matess and always good stew. But it does get rammed which means a bit of a wait on a saturday night, as expected.

Im not into Irish theme pubs, its all fake fake FAKE, and attracts all the wrong sorts to Moseley. Keep Moseley independant I say. Beer OK, food poor. Prices OK , atmosphere.... scary. Not a place for the ladies.

The Mick McCarthy of Irish pubs.
When its packed - its so-so. The beer's alright and the service is decent but there are several better pubs just a blarney stones throw away.

This pub is no good if there are a lot of people in it because it always has inexperienced, slow talkative staff behind the bar. If your a student, homesick and want a safe alternative, this is the place for you. A pub to visit, but never a local. One of a chain, same as....
thedrinker1 - 15 Sep 2006 05:18
nice boozer! Great service and food - your drinks are brought to your table!!! you cant ask for more than that - in this day and age of average service!
Other pubs please note..........

God they've done this place up a bit - looks great and good service

Angelface is obviously one of those moseley types whose thinks that a busy pub is a crap pub!!

this place is great, as long as you don't act a tit, you'll be given a great welcome.

if you're in there on a friday or saturday, then its busy...but other evenings its a haven of tranquility!!

The Irish McDonalds of pubs, made only worse by the absence of the Pound Saver menu. Anywhere in Moseley is better than this.
