This place was closed during our first visit to St Helier earlier in the day. We travelled back across the island, as we suspected it opened later in the afternoon. Sure enough, we did find it open. The tilework on the floor as you enter is impressive. The fact it has 5 handpulls with no ales is less than impressive. Certainly not worth driving across the island for. By the way, I can recommend the Post Horn in St Helier. It's not listed on here, but is not too far away and stocks a decent range of ales and cider.

Appears to be open again but the presence of a pool table put me off - the real ales also seem to have gone! Looks like it has changed its style and clientele!!

Looked very closed when I passed by last Tuesday - although the beer fonts were still on the bar and all the furniture was still there. Maybe it only opens in the evenings or at weekends now?? Anybody known anything about it?

Returned after a gap of a few months. Pub still more or less the same but beer selection not half as good - only Courage Directors which tasted a bit wobbly. Where have all the other beers gone?
The pub was very smokey too.

Still as good as it was last time.

Good pub with well kept ale. Excellent range of wines and good food, also small range of tapas. Can get very busy Friday and Saturday.

Busy at weekends. Good ale and extensive wine list (as the name suggests). Lots of big comfy sofas.

Spacious bar with comfortable seats. All the usual drinks plus well-kept real ale. It was quite empty when I went (Tuesday night) but apparently can get very busy.
