Rest in Peace. A lovely looking but ultimately unsuccessful pub. I don't know why they failed to keep customers. Yes it is on the main road, but a charming looking place.

I have used this pub on and off for years now and can honestly say that although it is not the most modern of pubs, it is always a good craic. The customers & staff are always friendly and will always make you feel welcome. Keep up the good work.

It breaks my heart to admit it but the FHT has been let go so much in the past year or so.I am gonna be honest here and say that it is not the same place it was a few years back not only has the overall running of the place deteriated but the staff are lazy and i have often been left at the bar waiting for a drink while the bar staff finish their conversation with their mates they are also rude sometimes and serve your pint to you without saying thanks etc.

very friendly staff, good atmosphere, good craic
have fallen in love with dark hair barmaid and also the dog who i think his name is jacob
seriously though the punters are slightly odd and not very welcoming to outsiders although i fit in nicely.
they have a full range of crisps not to mention the pork scratchings which regularly get put in my big ear

This along with the Railway Telegraph are the best two pubs in the area.

They have a great karaoke night in here on a friday which some great characters go to.

i think this is a great pub, the staff are lovely and the karaoke nights are a scream! interesting mix of people.

i think its really clicky in this pub, they all look and act a bit inbread, but there are some friendly custom.

We go to this pub most friday nights for the Kareoke which is fantastic. The pub itself is well run and very clean and tidy, this is by far one of the best pubs we have been to in the forest hill/sydenham area. As for the pub being "very intimidating" i always find it to be fine and the clientle you get in there are always very friendly.

I didn't stay long enough to really judge because I was looking for something to eat on a Saturday lunch and they weren't serving (not sure if they do food at all actually). That said, I was pretty relieved when the lady behind the bar said they weren't doing food because of the very intimidating stares we'd got from the punters as we walked in. Maybe it was a one-off, but the walk from door to bar didn't make me want to go back.

This is a very well run pub situated on stanstead road We have been a few times on various nights Inc, The Tuesday Jam Session Which is very enjoyable and The Karaoke Which again is very enjoyable have also been in for a quiet drink now and again and I have always found the Staff & Customers to be Polite & friendly & The Pub to be clean & Tidy.
Excellent 10/10

i paid a visit to this pub one friday night with a few pals after hearing that they had a karaoke on there every friday night, and we had a brilliant night. The pub itself is very nicely laid out and the atmosphere is great, and although this was my first visit to this pub i was made to feel very welcome by the customers and bar staff (who i must say are extremly pleasent and polite). The karaoke was great and the kj was very polite and encouraging when you got up to sing. Overall we had a wonderful evening out and would reccommend it to any one in the forest hill area on a friday night. We will 100% revisit this pub again on a friday night
