Wyldes is a busy bar on a main intersection in Bury town centre. It has a number of large seating areas. The upper levels were closed. But downstairs was still busy. There are plenty of TV screens. But the ale selection was limited. This is a Joseph Holts house and only their Bitter & Two Hoots were on. Worst pub I tried in Bury.

Reminded me of a Wetherspoons. Including being on more than one level with the loos upstairs - and very slow service.

Loads of TV screens showing two live football games.

Several "interesting characters" in the pub.

Holts beer OK, but it is not what it was.

There are better alternatives very close.

went to watch a footy match here last month, enjoyed it, shame about no big screen. saying that the pub makes up for it with the good prices and decent ale selection. loved the music as well! was nice to hear some proper tunes instead of the usual chart rubbish.

first time Ive visited here since they had the paint job, looks very smart inside, great drink prices, had a few ales from the new selection and stuck around to watch an hour of the singer on a friday night, had a fantastic time! well worth a visit when on the rounds in Bury, a lot more unique than JDW next door

Big Holts pub in town centre. Can be pleasant in day and early evening. One to avoid at weekends as it's usually packed and has bouncers on. Beer is Mild and Bitter which is usually ok but does vary a little.

I recently had a night out in Bury town centre, and I reckoned that this qwas one of the best pubs I went in. The beer seemed fresh enough, but I didn't ry the food.

First impression was what a great empty barn of a place. No atmosphere whatever. How on earth it got into the Good Beer Guide when the excellent Trackside down the road did not, I don't know. Loads of pulls but only 2 Holys beers on. Had the mild and left. Toilets are up loads of stairs in another empty bar room.Looks like an empty Wetherspoons.

This Holts pub is definitely styled on the Wetherspoon/Goose type pubs that are all over the place now. Sells Holts Bitter and whatever the seasonal is. Lsst time we called in I had to take the seasonal beer back as it was total vinegar. It was changed for a Holts bitter but it had obviously "gone" quite some time ago to be so bad. Food is also Wetherspoonsalike although the quality is a bit better. Smart for a Holts pub, but only OK really.

sadly the prices here are well above most Holts pubs now and certainly well above the Wetherspoons next door and there have been quality issues recently. Food is OK

Not bad.

Holts pub with both mild and bitter cask ales at their usual prices - with Wetherspoons next door, this is the only time I can remember a Holts pub being dearer than the pub next door.

Nice bar, quite trendy, aimed at 20 somethings. Quite a few seats to sprawl on and relax, its a good atmosphere. Strict on ID.

Nice bar, looks good inside and out with plenty of place to sit if needed.
Food typical British, very good selection of wines
Friendly door staff, bar staff could be a bit more happy!

Kids are unfortunatly not allowed in at all. Which i found out today. Its still a great place to go, if you havn't got the kids with you. Keeps the place a bit more peaceful i suppose! A break from kids!! Still highly reccomended.

Not bad food. They do sunday lunch-not tried it yet,but looks nice. Reasonably priced. Great central location (The Wylde)Great place to drink and eat during a day of shopping at the nearby Millgate and Market. Well worth a look if in the Bury area.

A Holt's bar. Amazing food. Not a bad price. Comfortable surroundings. Two levels. Smart dress code-to stop any scallies. No work cloths to keep the place nice and clean!! Plenty of tv's in easy to view places with a mixture of music played on them. Over all, pretty impressed.
