Good student-type pub with no pretenses. Great manager and staff, good sized house trebles and excellent jukebox. Best bar in the area.

Yeah - had a quality time in there, a few games of pool and a few ales. Found out some cheap places to go in the local vicinity as well which was good, considering the prices in there weren't all that special. You know when you walk in that this aint a trendy bar, so don't go expecting anything. It was just quite sound, and allowed for some spirited Barry Roche songs...

Awesome little pub!

It was my local when I lived in Newcastle, while it was still the Tut n Shive. When I returned years later, I got very confused and left looking for the Tut n Shive. After an hour it clicked that this was in fact the pub I was looking for. AH, the effects of a few years and more beer on the memory! I shall be returning there very soon...
