please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I arrived here about 15 minutes before opening on Sunday lunchtime. But it was almost 25 minutes before a door was opened. Apparently the staff would rather set out all the tables with menus and the like, before welcoming anybody in. I very nearly gave up. But eventually I managed to get through the side door and found a reasonably large pub with a couple of rooms. The rear bar is now used for dining. The Dragonfly beers previously mentioned are no longer stocked. The 3 ales on were Sambrooks Junction, Fullers London Pride & Hammerton N7. Cider was Rosie's Pig. There doesn't seem much competition in the vicinity. So maybe that's why they can afford to ignore customers sitting outside. I doubt I'd make a return visit to this area any time soon.

Completely refurbished since my last visit. On first impressions just another gastro pub. However, this is linked to the Dragonfly brew pub in Action and real ale and craft beer is to the fore. Good selection and knowledgeable and enthusiastic bar staff. Food looked really good and the tunes coming out of the jukebox were to my liking. Nice place will be back.

This is a very attractive place, though unfortunately rather awkward to get to. Beer is good and the music selection is a big plus. Not so sure about the food though, and only one vegetarian option on the menu causes embarrassment when you've invited veggies to meet you there.

Possibly the best jukebox selection I've found in a pub ever (with the possible exception of Bradley's off Oxford St). This trumps even the (overratted) Boogaloo.

Decent selection of ales (though not a fan of the Litovel lagers), friendly staff. Didn't try the food. A good addition to the area since the revamp!

Now finally open again and well worth the wait. With a wide selection of drinks, excellent food and FREE jukebox it was a lovely evening there. I had the pork belly and it was the best pork belly I have ever had. It was that good I even asked the chef how to do it so I can make it at home! Staff made us feel very welcome. Will definitely visit there on a regular basis.

This Victorian pub has a nice atmosphere, the back room is excellent although it looks like some infants have decorated the skylight with hemoroids.

We ordered the pie which was amazing but I have to say the crappy eastern block beer was awful and made me feel dodgy.

We will go back, especially for the well cooked food, but I hope when we do they have some normal lager like Heineken or Red Stripe on drought.

This review is not brought to you by the owners neither!

Or, in contrast, good looking pub, very nice food, well kept beer and a really excellent jukebox.

Brought to you by the same people as the Rosemary Branch, Salisbury Hotel and the Royal Inn on the Park.

Good looking pub, very nice food, shit beer and a really bad jukebox.

this pub is now open, popped in on saturday for a few beverages and something to eat good selection of real ales, Litovel on tap being the only draught but its a nice tasting lager, then the usual suspects in the bottle fridges. Had the steak and ale pie- really good and my friend had the king prawn rarebit- also extremely good.
fairly traditional decor with a funky jukebox playing lots of classics (free at the mo).
this pub is a welcome addition to this side of the hill. Good luck to the couple running it.

This place was boarded up when I went past on the bus the other day.

Nothing really remarkable about the place but good enough for a pint when watching the football in a friendly atmosphere.

I've visited here occasionally for years. Its ok but they never have more than one real ale on and often dont have any on at all.

We visited last weekend to partake of the "great menu", only to find that they no longer serve food.
It's a shame as we really enjoyed the meals that used to be offered when we last visited.

The Thursday night quiz was brilliant, but I think they ditched it when they went up-market! :(

Used to be a decent down to earth boozer Sky Sports pool tables etc but now seems to have been taken over and turned into a gastro pub for the yuppies who are pricing the folk who have lived there all their lives out of the area. The expression mutton dressed up as lamb not the best place to leave at night with the drunks and muggers who inhabit the park across the road.Doesnt really suit the area if you want a gastro pub check out Crouch End

Previously one of those pubs I'd spent a lot of time walking past without giving a second thought to. Have revised this attitude after seeing some of the comments brought on by the recent refurb and found it well worth my while, especially for someone who is prepared to walk further than the end of his road if it gets him to a real ale pump.

A great pub that stands out with its tasteful interior, excellent food and good selection of wine & real ales. The attention to detail is impressive, with a well balanced menu including fresh seafood, tradional game, and vegetarian dishes. Friendly service as well. If only my local was like that! Must visit again.

Excellent food, great wine and a massive selection of beer, without a doubt my new local! The new refurb looks awsome. Guaranteed an enjoyable night out - well done!

Decent boozer, landlord a right cheeky-chappy - full of gags and chat who loves talking about Beckham, birds and beer. A bit of a cross between a second hand car dealer and Chris Tarrant. Worth a visit to the pub alone to check out his silver tongue.

Sunday roasts all day, fantastic. I went at four o'clock on Sunday 21st Nov with five other friends and we all had great meals. At last a pub that can serve good roast potatoes. The wine was superb and a bargain. The music was good too.
