Popped in here on a drive out and had lunch. Lovely fish n chips and my wife's scampi was nice too. Not excatly a gastro pub maybe, but good old fashioned food and beautfully cooked. Beer good and my pint of Old Hooky was very well kept. Old gripe was that I had a large glass of white wine and my wife had a small, but there was hardly any difference....except in the price! Recommended!

We called in for and early evening meal and the place was absolutely crowded with rotarians (I think) gathering for some kind of dinner, but we had no trouble getting served and our food arrived promptly. Very good it was too. Can't remember now what I washed it down with but I went back for another so it must've been alright. Don't be put off by the shabby exterior, this is a good pub.

I'm the owner of the Greyhound and would like to apologise to Chocolate Thunder as it appears you have been wrongly charged. Half pints should be charged at half the price of a pint. Apologies again.

Well - I popped in for a quiet pint and really like the place. One pint cost me 3.10. (This is relevant...)

I had things to do, and came back with a mate a couple of hours later. A pint and a half of the same stuff was 6.20.
Now I have a degree in mathematics and so naively was expecting to pay 4.65. I was wrong....
Drink by the pint - not the half pint. They cost the same....

Last reviewed this just as the new managers took over....... they have been in for 6 or so months now and this place has gone from strength to strength. The new owners bend over backwards to support the village, food is lovely and they are even starting to get a decent wine list!

I made my first visit here yesterday and was pleasently surprised by the quality of the food, beer and atmosphere. We spent a very enjoyable evening and found the regulars welcoming. We did not eat, but the food looked good from a distance. We will be coming back to try out the food and spend a sunny afternoon in the beer garden.

Since the new managers have taken over this pub has gone from strength to strength. Great food, cracking staff and a friendly comfortable atmosphere! A mixture of ages frequents the pub which is reassuring. They also have a huge beer garden out the back which has been vastly improved in the past few months. This pub is a true little Olde English gem!

This pub has recently gone under new management and what a great little pub this now is. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly. Spent a Saturday night there a few weeks back and there was live music and it was a really fun packed evening. Top pub.

Cracking pub, great food and have spent many Sundays nursing a pint and savouring a splendid roast. Very friendly and a great atmosphere.
Will be back without a doubt. The new owners deserve nothing but success.

Went on Sunday for a long and v enjoyable roast lunch. Beer is well-kept and tasty. Great atmosphere in the pub with its roaring log fire and friendly locals sitting around the bar. New landlords (5 weeks) and much improvement already.

We were driving through Wadhurst, decided it was time to stop for food and stumbled across The Greyhound. It was Sunday afternoon and we had made it just in time before the kitchen closed...lucky us! The food was absolutley amazing. I had the pork dinner with both goose fat roast potatoes and dauphinois (gorgeous!) and my other half had the steak and ale pie which was not only huge but delicious!
We often have to travel on that route and I no for certain that we will be eating at The Greyhound again.

I had heard some good things about this place since the new owners took over. we went there for some lunch on a sunday and were amazed at the food.

It seamed to have a completely different feel, we really liked it and have been back a few times since!

I hope this is the start of a revival for the 'hound!

My local - this pub has been up for sale for a while hence the current sense of uninterest in the place. However it is friendly with a great sense of community and hopefully the new buyers will exapnd on it's potential.

I've always quite liked the Greyhound, so I was very disappointed the other night when I dropped in to find the place resembling a morgue. I don't mind a quiet pub - in fact I rather like it that way; but somehow the pub just had a dead feel about it. Admittedly it was quite early, and there were more people inside when I passed by later on, but with only one ale on (inevitably Harvey's) and the other 2 pump-clips turned round, I didn't feel encouraged to stay very long.Hope it was just a one-off, and the place is doing OK.

Great pub but a shame it has been run by businessmen instead of publicans for as long as I can remember (about 20 years). Lost many locals to The White Hart up the road but don't let that put you off if you're not looking to be there every other night. Hard-working, courteous family run place last time I looked.

Excellent taste of olde England. So good infact, I took the liberty of including its setting in my newest book, Twilight Of Fury.

Old pub, serve a good local pint and usually have respectable clientele. You'll find me in here on Tuesday nights usually.
