Pub number 4 and the Blues Bar is very different to the previous 3 I've been in.

As the name suggests this is a music bar, looking at the posters on the walls there's plenty of live acts playing over the coming days. On my visit the music was being played at a respectable level.

4 ales available and again another pub where all offerings are from the surrounding area. My choice was from Halifax's Stod Fold Brewing Co, Gold @ 3.8%.

Relatively empty but its a small bar so it didn't feel that empty, the music helped.

This is a decent bar that I wasn't quite expecting having visited 3 'proper' pubs before coming here. I would like to return one evening when the bar is busier to listen to live music.

Good beer choice and the pint I had was well kept.

A great atmosphere, live music every night and some lunchtimes too. Shame that it is so small! The mural up the stairs is very well done. The Egyptian restaurant upstairs, The Blue Nile, is worth booking for a party because the food is delicious. Best enjoyed on a sunny afternoon when you can wander out onto the Stray.

Visited here on a Friday night and found it to be very busy - this is a small pub, with one room served by a small bar area. it was so busy that many people were sat on the staircase which leads upstairs whilst watching a blues band which was crammed into the window area.
They sold a couple of real ales, including one from Wold Top which was in good form.
There was a great atmosphere, the live music was good and offered something a little different, and the beer was good.
Though I don't normally comment on the toilets, I have to say that these were not great, they were dirty and the floor was very wet, and I don't think this was from an overflowing sink !
Overall, a nice place, with its live music offering something different. Worth a visit, they just need to sort the toilets out.

Unlikely looking outlet for real ale, but worth a visit. Decent prices and a good choice. Just a few doors down Montpellier from the famous Betty's Tearooms.

Went to see Green Mac (Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac tribute band) here - was very suprised to get a seat at the front, and fuelled by Jarrow Caulker beer, which was in top form, listenening to those "out of phase" Gibsons (actually Vintage copies), I thought for a while I'd died and gone to heaven. As my head reminded me next day, I was just pissed, in the right place, at the right time!! Brilliant - pity some of the "regulars" don't seem to treat the place and the bands with a bit more respect!*!

Tiny pub that still manages to have live bands on all the time, the stage takes up at least a third of the space in here. Has 4 handpumps serving changing guest beers, the two we tried were excellent. Theres a fantastic sepia coloured mural on the wall picturing some of the Blues greats. Its a fine little pub with a friendly clientele and staff.

Always try to get in a visit to the Blues Bar when we are up from London. A real gem of a bar and something I am very envious of. Good selection of changing real ales, fantastic live music, one of only a few bars to benefit from the smoking ban and always a great crowd.

A good place - after taking in the wonder of Hales - to take in a bit of R'n'B, although the bands here a generally a bit too rock for my tastes.

Good vibe, decent beers, alternative clientele.

Bloody small for the numbers sometimes though.

Good food, good beer and, on Thursday nights, the fantastic Paul Middleton Band, though it might not be advisable to take your old Aunt Elsie along.
Tuesday nights is Jam Night and, last time I was there, it was full of totally talentless tossers who thought they were Jimi Hendrix. Best avoided.
