Unremarkable boozer with a big paved beer garden. The Harveys was ok. Service was friendly enough.

As for a pub serving curry - to me that's a genius idea. Curry. In a pub. Hand in glove.

why oh why are they serving aunt bessies and frozen veg with their "traditional sunday roast" what ever happened to the home cooked food?sadly the management changed and also sadly the new managers have kept the same awful, rude and unprofessional staff.A pub to avoid now unless you live in the local ymca.

Since new management have taken over what has happened to the food menu? Portions have been reduced and the prices have increased. Looking at the menu veg is a thing of the past - it's chips or rice with everything. Not everyone wants a spicy shepherds pie, spicy lasagna or a choice of 3 different curries - bring back the traditional roast where we had a choice of two sometimes three! Who ever put together this menu certainly did not have customer satisfaction in mind it's more for the benefit of the kitchen staff - 'slap dash' - (e.g. home made coleslaw has now been replaced with the cheapest supermarket version). I would advise that this is a drink only pub - if you're after decent food go elsewhere! Having been a long standing regular I think the customer numbers have dropped significantly. It appears the patrons are now going elsewhere and who can blame them!
Bring back the previous management and save the sinking ship - I guess we were just spoilt with good traditional homemade food and excellent value for money.
I wonder what curry will be served on St Patrick's day!!

Excellent pub.

I only manage to get in there occasionally but locals and staff are very welcoming. Food is superb. Freshly cooked to order - no 'chain pub' huge menus with all microwaved crap in here.

If you are passing would highly recommend you pop in.

This is a pleasing traditional pub which has undergone a modern refurbishment, resulting in a local's pub that bears a strong resemblance to a wine bar.
Even so, there's still a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a good pint of Pride to be had. Large screens show all the main sporting events and there's a small beer patio out near the car park.
An odd, but not unpleasant place to drink in.

The refurbishment has made this a much better pub verity of beers.
SkyTV Darts and what I like best quiz machine.

There's a notice in the window advising that this pub will be closed for several weeks for refurbishment. I hope that when the refurbishment is complete it continues to serve real ale and doesn't lose its character.

A veritable gem of a pub. Relaxed no fuss establishment serving good beer and good value food in generous portions.
Sky tv, duke box, books, beer garden.
Cheery staff and an all round tip top experience.
Can get a bit smokey so roll on July 1st.
Keep it up!

As all pubs should be. Half the bar staff (all of which have been there for at least the last 6 years since i have been visiting) have invented their own indecipherable language of grunts, clicks and bastardised english phrases. Food is great value and arrives very quick, along with a basket of leading brand 5ml sachet sauces, atop which is provided cutlery tightly and deftly wrapped in a paper napkin. If you ever care to embark upon a voyage of discovery around the floorplan of the place you will frequently notice large clean squares of wall paper where pictures once hung- a classic sign of a classic pub.

Those missing pictures no doubt sold to swell the coffers in order to fund a new venture for the pub- The wonderful 'Windmill Book Club'. Most lesser pubs fall down in the ratings for only serving food, beer and showing sport. Not the Windmill, for carfully arranged along a one meter wooden ledge (with beer induced self adhesive properties) is a wealth of heavy weight litery tomes. The avid book reader would be well to find themselves to this pub where no doubt they would lose themselves for at least ten minutes amoung the collection of well thumbed offerings from Jack Higgins, Tom Clancy and Frederick Forsyth.

I can not reccomend this pub highly enough.

Male dominated pub. Very friendly and welcoming staff and decently kept real ale, though not much choice. Bit like stepping back 20 years but good fun.
