Nice pub with good food.

Food is variable - sometimes excellent, sometimes mediocre. Usually 2-3 cask conditioned ales. Hot nuts and a good selection of snacks. Some comfy leather seats and sofas - not a bad place to spend an evening.

Don't even think about it unless you need food after 8pm. This is a chain manufactured pub.
Go round the corner another 100 yards to The Duke of Sussex.

Neither a good pub or decent restaurant. Muzak, frozen chips & laminated menus. Ugh!

I had a bad experience with the time I had to wait for my meal there some years ago and haven't been back since then.
The bear being average, is the best thing I've ever known anyone say about this pub.

Ordered sunday lunch left waiting for an hour only to be told run they had run out. Then told if Im order something else It could take another hour I decided to cut my losses and went to macdonalds.
