please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Millers had a slightly more down-to-earth feel than the nearby Fellow. At £4 a pint, it was much more friendly on the pocket. This pub was also busier, with quite a few people ordering breakfasts. The pub seems to have an Irish theme to it. Service wasn't the quickest, as the barman was making coffees and delivering breakfasts to tables. The selection was also fairly bog standard - Pride, Doom Bar & Deuchars. I had the Deuchars, which was better than expected.

Now called Millers. A single bar corner location bar/pub. Three casks - guest, Pride and Directors. Modern refurbishment of bare brick and pine. Big windows. Relaxed afternoon atmosphere. OK.

Spent a couple of evenings in Millers over New Year watching the football/darts and returned last Saturday lunch time for more of the same. A Good honest boozer for spending some time in to watch the sport on Tv. Bar staff more than willing with requests for whatever sport you are after.

Now known as Millers.

I have known this pub for over ten years and whole heartedly agree with Captain Hook down there.
The staff are good, the bouncers are good and it's a BOOZER! If you don't like it that's absolutely fine but it doesn't pretend to be something it's not, ie. classy, so knob off to Camino if it's not for you.
It is nothing like the Scotsman and they don't encourage their punters in, it's unfortunate that it happens to be opposite. Any whiff of trouble and they are sent packing. It's a locals and regulars pub in an area fast being developed into ...god knows what.
Give it a go if you fancy a reasonably priced pint and a taste of a real London/Irish boozer. It won't bite.

Full of bad eggs....You can tell by the smell.Prefer to sup from one of the puddles of piss around the front door.

A rather brash bar attracting a bottom end of the market mix of lad culture to red faced alcoholic businessmen in suits who have little to go home for. The interior is a contrived mix of bare brick and pine with a mass of ugly poles and cables stretching across the ceiling. Life here seems to revolve around the plasma screen and pool table with the doors seemingly ever populated with smokers that makes one think what the place would have been like prior to the ban. On the plus side, they surprisingly had very drinkable quality Courage Best & Directors on hand pump alongside the usual mass market kegs and lagers which did at least make the visit slightly more bearable. Not a place to linger but I have been in a lot worse.

I am laughing at what livelyjoe has to say about the Dun-a-ri, because it is mostly true, but it is probably the greatest pub in the entire world for those very same reasons. I virtually lived at this pub last spring as I lived around the corner and the place was more a home than my flat. The staff are lovely and and quick! despite what some of the comments say. The bouncers are wonderful and have always made me feel perfectly safe as a woman alone. And yes it is filled with a dodgy sort but that's what gives it its charm and character. The Guinness is cheap and not terrible for London, and if you order it enough they'll have it poured for you before you even step in the door. The builders are lovely for a chat even if they are trying to take you home. There is always someone interesting to talk to, and always some even more interesting people to entertain you. (Watch out for a very tall lumberjack-like man in flannel who always looks miserable and falls asleep in the corner by the door with his pint) And karaoke on Wednesday nights is always good for a laugh. It's great in the spring time to sit outside and enjoy the local flavour of King's Cross..ha. Seriously if you are looking for a true locals pub with all the grime and dodginess king's cross has to offer, this is the place for you...If you're looking for some posh kensington shite then stay home, we don't want you anyway!
captainhook1842 - 15 Dec 2008 07:53
what a dump.barstaff are too ignorant to do anything except chat to themselves.ive been shortchanged twice and the doorstaff are a bit touchy feely yeuch!memorable for all the wrong reasons.the smell is horrendous.

Having newly moved residence closeby we felt that this derelict looking place needed a review. This and nearby Flying Scotsman(same owner?)are the WORST in the area.Frequented by smokestained old lags, local chavs and undeoderized brickies you can nearly see the yellowish stain float through the air like a cartoon fart. The manager.is a scruffy looking nervous type, constantly picking his nose and regularly surrenders control of the pub to whatever gangs of marauding footiethugs happen by.The barmaids are all"innit!eyebeefa!wotevah!am I bovvered?"types, beerbellies and hairy underarms.Ask for any drink more complicated than an alcopop and all that you recieve is a stare of complete confusion and back to doing nails, reading paper or glaring enviously at other women. You need to check your change and card bills. The lager here is very flat and will go through you faster than sunlight through glass. The food is more to die from than die for.Chefs never stay long I was informed. The toilets are gobstained, smelly and definitely have swamp creatures lurking. The flies rule.I was also informed by an old regular lag Bernie that the owner Pat let the cellar get so bad the dreymen refused to deliver any beer and reported the place to the council.Nice.There reputedly has been a squat upstairs for ages and looking around the bar there are definitely some hairy likely types. Not the type of place to bring the inlaws then. The music is far too loud and the selection is a testament to terrible bad taste. There are far classier bars nearby. This establishment is like a very poorly managed ONeills on the Chatsworth Estate.Substandard.
livelyjoe - 1 Apr 2008 12:26
One of those pubs that probably hasnt changed much in the last 10 or 20 years. A real locals pub that is fairly tolerant of the occasional visitor who wanders in.

Millay - 9 Feb 2008 22:08
Great little pub with fast efficent staff, Young pretty dark haired girl and older dark haired man always seem to be behind the bar, they seem to work well as a team never wait longer than a couple of minutes to be served.(curious as to wether they are a couple or father/daughter team, hoping for the latter)
makeitadouble - 28 Aug 2007 13:14
Great little boozer for a cheap late night, Staff are quick and friendly (bar one White haired fella who seems to have eyesight problems i.e cant see customers waiting) Food much better than it used to be and reasonably priced.
anonymous - 28 Aug 2007 12:59

moclips2002 - 25 Jul 2007 20:18

montypython - 1 Jun 2007 21:53
I have lived there for the past twelves months. The traffic noise is horrendous but after two gallon everything goes quiet you can hear the mice creeping about but i wouldn't have it any other way. Its the best pub in london but the pool tables been kicked to bits to get the white ball back out the pocket. The bar staff are top notch. Good craic for a heavy session Monday to Saturday. It should change its name to the pickled liver.
anonymous - 23 May 2007 12:11
Have had many a wonderful drunken night in this pub beer not overpriced relaxed atmosphere. Good for sitting outside in the summer watching the birds walk by.
Daniel76 - 23 May 2007 11:50
Real old fashioned dive! Lots of high-vis fluorescent testosterone and menace. Avoid !
halfbee - 27 Mar 2007 10:07
I had a drink in there last night and this is an awful place to go. Drunk builders seems the over-typical clientele.
albert_the_wonderdog - 7 Mar 2007 10:41
A good solid boozer with the added benefit of being open until 2am with no last entry Drinks are inexpensive and well served. A real mix of people - all sorts and all ages. Terrific
glp - 25 Jan 2007 13:55
I have to defend this pub, which happens to be the best local in the world.

Many many of the builders that happen to drink in there are lovely people, the staff is great and quick servers, music is normally good, and it's not overpriced.
It is a good place to go as a girl, despite what pinksarah says. I have never ever had any trouble in that place, and neither has any of my friends.
The pub grows on you.

Mrs_Kermit - 7 Jan 2007 20:56
Bloody awful pub full of pissed-up leery builders. Definitely a no-go for girls at the very least!
pinksarah - 26 May 2005 21:13
This pub is a fine spot for a drink with mates, to watch the football and play pool. Never had any hassle in this place, good mix of people and the staff are sound. Opens late as well.
keep_it_green - 26 Apr 2005 16:14
I am posting this comment in reply the the last two regarding the Dun A Ri, as a regular I think the Dun A Ri is the finest pub in London and in my many nights drinking there I cant say I've had one bad experience ! (by the way did you expect to find sober people when you visited an Irish pub on St Patricks Day?)
anonymous - 21 Apr 2005 14:32
absolutely horrendous
tanderson7 - 5 Apr 2005 16:54
Not a pub i would recommend to anyone. Full of very drunk men and very dodgy people. We arranged to meet here from the listings on this site and I feel obliged to warn people not to go here. Very aggro place.
Kalen - 18 Mar 2005 10:49
good pub i like the atmosphere
drumandmonkeyfan - 24 Feb 2005 09:57
Warm beer and cold women, what more could you ask for in a local pub!
anonymous - 1 Dec 2004 08:14
Yeah baby! my old local. The place gets life when all the barstaff in the area gets off work and heads off for a pint or two. Quite scruffy maybe, but has really got all the charm you want in a local!
Mrs_Kermit - 24 Nov 2004 17:48
The place ROCKS on a Saturday night! Arrive after 11pm just as the place is starting to come alive.
Tally - 25 Oct 2004 08:09
The Best DJ in London - wide variety of music played on a Saturday night, something to please everyone, young and old.
Chris - 9 Aug 2004 12:55
ok so the Dun A Ri might not have many sexy men on offer but just check out the sexy bar staff !! If your looking for a good night out with plenty of cheap drinks look no further then 19 Caledonian Road !! Wednesdays karaoke is a great laugh and from my experiences in the Dun A Ri thursday, friday and saturday nights are just as good (if not better!!) Definately a boozer not to pass by !!
SB - 8 Aug 2004 17:55
What a great pub, stays open till 2.00am and bar staff and bouncers really friendly and nice. We had a lunchtime 2 pints and then came back later for dancing and pool playing. Considering we had had about 10 pints by this stage, everyone was really tolerant of our drunken antics, which I like in a pub. All the people in there seemed really friendly. Top night out.
Maz McGuigan - 10 May 2004 10:52
I have tried this pub a couple of times and was pleasantly suprised. Staff & bouncers are very friendly and good food til late. 'In House DJ' on weekends and some weeknights, wednesday karaoke is a particularly fun night out. I would definatly recommend this pub.
Jen - 21 Nov 2003 22:30
Wicked night out, cheap drinks, special offers, REAL people!!! Definately the place to go for a night out before clubbing. Gonna have to be my new local! WHAT PUNCH-UPS????
Jen - 21 Nov 2003 22:24
open till 2am. seems a bit dodgy, but locals are friendly, and young dancing with olds, which is good. loud music, but good for a boogie. hookers hastle for fags if you sit outside though.
anonymous - 1 Oct 2003 20:06
i've been to this bar once and it was the worst experience i've had, the staff was to busy chating away to serve drinks, the music was to loud to talk, and to make maters worst more than one fight broke up during the night and the bouncers couldn't handle the situation,NEVER AGAIN!
DANIELLE - 22 May 2003 21:17
You just cant beat the karaoke on wednesdays !!!! Had a few beers and ciders and ...had a really good time there. Don`t miss it. Thats real life. Thats the real London
