Quick after-dinner stop off for a drink here showed it to be a pleasant watering hole, with a varied but not oversized or overpriced menu. Atmosphere was friendly and the garden a very relaxing place, with extensive diversions for the smaller members of your party.

I stopped in here with my family for a pint on our way home on Sunday from Alice Holt forest - well kept beers, landlady very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The menu looked good too.

Me, my Mum & Dad booked a table at this pub tonight after reading the reviews on here and it was also recommended by a friend.
We were greeted very warmly and friendly and shown to our table.
The service was excellent and we were seated next to an open fire which was lovely.
I had Garlic Bread to start which was yummy, for our main meals we had Thai Chilli Fishcakes, Chicken wrapped in Parma Ham, Tomato & Melted Cheese, & Ham Egg and Chips. They were all lovely and well cooked. Homemade too which made it a lot nicer, all hot and served well.
Would definately recommend and we are looking at going back again.
Quiz on a sunday as well :)

Went for the first time on Saturday 11th December. When I first opened the door my initial reaction was that I had made a big mistake but the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The furniture has seen better days but the food was superb - Hot, tasty and prompt!!
I never usually tip in restaurants as i've never been 100% satisfied but I left quite a large tip here.
Would definitely go again.............and again, and again!

We visited this pub as a Family of 5 to celebrate my Husband's Bday. Our ages ranged from 13 to 66 and I can safely say that the menu offered something for everyone.
The Service was fabulous and so very friendly, the food was fantastic- 3 of us had the steak which we all agreed was cooked to perfection (we each asked for it to be cooked differently- Rare, Medium and Well done!) The ambience was such that we felt sufficiently relaxed to linger for some time after our meal had finished!
If you want great food and a warm welcome in nice surroundings, the Royal Oak is for you. We will definitely return.

Really good food, fair price and very welcoming considering we had two children and a wet dog who laid by the fire. Will be a regular visitor if always like that

First visit in a long time, i am very impressed with the new changes being made to the place. Smoking area is a brilliant idea, very different from most places (you dont just have to stand in the cold!). I will definatly be coming back, food was tasty, the christmas menu looks promising! the staff are friendly and greeted us with a smile, and were cheerfuland pleasent towards us for the whole evening.

New Landlord and all new staff, great new atomsphere. Refreshingly good change. Log fires, and amazing food, very traditional, just what wrecclesham needed

Changed hands recently. A bit of a refit and a wall knocked out give it a more open feel. Now slightly more emphasis on (traditional) food, but still perfectly quaffable beer, with the addition of Ruddles County to the original GK IPA and Speckled Hen.

My local. Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. Good Guinness, and a friendly Irish welcome from Karina, the landlady. The curry house association ended in Jan 08.
